  • Exterior Cellular Antenna

I had an older Verizon Jetpack WiFi hotspot that I mounted in the back of the bus, tethered it to a route with the USB cord and connected a external 5Db antenna (magnetic trucker style antenna) to the Jetpacks external antenna port. This has worked well for me in most all situations.

I have just upgraded to the newer Verizion Jetpack (8800L) with 2 external antenna ports. Not knowing if the current antenna I have would work or if I needed dual antennas because of the dual antenna ports on the new Jetpack, I called Alternative Wireless (AlternativeWireless.com). After explaining my past system and current upgrade, I waited to be sold the latest and greatest antenna system. The rep told me I had the correct system and didn’t need to upgrade anything for proper operation of my new Jetpack. It is refreshing to speak with a company representative willing to give you the correct information instead of a sales pitch and a up sale.

Would recommend contacting Alternative Wireless for your wireless needs.

    Chuck

Thank you for the info. Certainly is not the norm in this day and age.

I’m a big fan of Pepwave products. I’m currently running their Surf SOHO MK3 system. It supports MIFI modems tethered via it’s USB port. No loss in re-broadcasting a wifi signal. I’m running a mix of wireless and hard wired devices and having great luck. Highly recommended.
