  • Should we give the bus a new paint job?

Posted by Becky on August 9, 2018 at 9:08 am

Hey y’all! Looking for some advice … saw this in KY and now Joe and I are having a ‘healthy’ discussion on whether this look is right for us…what say you?

    Becky

PS it was great seeing so many of you in MI! We had a great time – and thought the food truck rocked! ??

Becky and Joe…….here is my opinion which doesn’t amount to much.

Assuming the systems and interior are everything you really want the decision is simple. Make sure the price is low enough for you to redo the exterior appearance to whatever you would like it to be.

I saw an entertainer conversion that looked like that at one of our advertisers and let’s just say the appearance is not one that I would choose.

Don’t fret Jon we are not getting rid of the teal blue! It’s my first and last.

This one struck me as just “different”. I can’t say I have ever seen any car, truck, or bus in a matte finish. No one was around to ask and I did not get a real up close look. Maybe it was a wrap, don’t really think so as the steel rims were also matte black as was the awning and every accessory I saw.

Now adding some silver strips to the matte black might be quite good.

Your coach is a really good looking coach and when anyone looks at it they can’t help but feel good. A matte grey or black coach like the one pictured is somber looking and looks institutional.

If ever there will be 100% agreement on this site, there is nothing “institutional” about Olivia.

Thanks for all the input! After viewing the famous ‘institutional’ black and silver coach and reading its story ( and not wanting to be accused of trying a poor imitation of that!) and taking Jon’s words to heart, I think we’ll just hang with the teal…..

OK, Ron. I’ll change the wording a little……..An all black bus looks institutional.

Paint your stainless, your wheels and Olivia all black and I am sure you would agree.

the younger generations call everything blacked out Stealth. What a boring world it would be if we all had the same opinions and taste. That blacked out bus does not appeal to me , but i am sure the owner is very proud of it. SWAT is blacked out also. Just saying ….

    FWIW…

To me it looks unfinished… looks like an undercoat… nothing attractive about it at all… looks doomed. The only good thing to me is that it’s still a Prevost !!

    Just my opinion !!

    Cheers, Diane

    • Diane, You need to stop beating around the bush and come out with what’s really on you mind! wink

When I first saw the picture of the coach I thought “It looks institutional”! Becky, I’d not want to hurt your feeling for anything in the world. I just want to give you an honest answer to your honest question.

    Harry

PS. Would love to see an inside picture!
