  • Time to sell the bus !!

Posted by Larry & Diane on October 27, 2020 at 9:40 pm

It breaks our hearts that our RVing days have had to come to an end… we can’t handle it safely anymore as much as we hate it.

I am the one who had to do everything and injured myself over a year ago and just can’t handle it all alone so the bus must go.

We sure value all our friendships & adventures with the Prevost crowd.. we have had so much fun and the memories will last forever.

If anyone ventures our way we would love you to stop in for a visit. We are thinking of buying a beach house for the weekends and just laying low for the most part.

I will make another trip home to Australia as soon as soon as it’s safe to go there …Covid sure has messed with our plans.

It is going to be a huge change after having the bus sitting there ready to go when we were.

Just wanted to give everyone a “heads up” and tell you all that you will be missed and many many thanks for your friendship.

Y’all stay safe and happy travels.

    Cheers, Diane & Larry

    Diane & Larry,

Sorry to hear that… I remember meeting you both at our first PC Rally in OKC. We were new to Prevost life and to PC and you both couldn’t have been nicer. Good Luck and Best wishes for the next chapter.

    Diane and Larry,

Sorry to hear about the bus sale but a beach house is mighty nice too!

I remember the first time that I met you folks, it was at Oysterfest at the Bella Terra. You both were so welcoming!

New chapters in life can be thrown at us as I’m having one too!

Wishing good health to you both!

Yeah for some of us the time will come to sell with heartaches. My1991 XL will be on here shortly after 10 years of ownership as I’m getting tired of keeping things up on it. Wish somebody was closer to us as I wouldn’t mind paying someone to work on it. Prevost Houston,Texas still does the yearly Level 3’s. 3 to 4 hours away. Mine will be priced give away cheap. Harry do you need another one?

Hey Glen, It was my birthday yesterday and I looked all over for my “birthday bus”? Dee just asked me the other day “What if our bus doesn’t start one day”? And I told her there was no problem because brother Glen is going to surprise me with a special gift! And you did too… No card, No call, No money and No Bus!

Suffice it to say it was a very sad birthday! But not to worry, another five to ten years and I’ll be over it,

Anyone else see the RVing with Andrew Steele and the criticism he had of 1) Maintenance required on Older Prevost, and two) 8V92’s. He even had the guy from Bordur Coach talking about how bad the 8v92 is, but he does not work on or maintain them. Same guy that said to put wood flooring in a Prevost will cost between $7,500 and $15,000. That must be wood flooring that is hand hewn, gently rubbed for a year, polished with the gold standard for polish, and then wiped gently with a butt for another year.

Whomever in the PC that recently said “we have some idiot in Arizona running around offering advice on Prevost” hit the nail on the head.

I don’t know who the expert is, or his background, but I do know from hands on maintenance of 3 Prevost coaches over a 30 year period that there is not a whole lot of difference in maintenance or reliability between early vintage 2 stroke coaches and later model 4 stroke coaches. I am including in that personal observation the fact the conversions have gotten very complex with the systems like Crestron.

The only difference is the life of a 2 stroke engine is about 400,000 to 500,000 miles and a 4 stroke is 800,000 to 1,000,000 miles.

The simplicity of earlier coaches is one of the things that offsets what might be shorter lifespans of engines.

It would be nice if the experts making videos and using their “expertise” to make money would present their credentials and conflicts of interest.

Harry, Happy Belated B Day, and Sorry I missed the Big Day. I went ahead and sent a box full of hundreds as I know, having a 1991 XL myself, you need it to keep a going. Sorry again as the box came back as “Undeliverable” . Oh well maybe next year.
