I made a big mistake when I wasted $100 to join POG. I posted a response about batteries and supplied a link to Tom.
I got a private message spanking me even though POG doesn’t have any battery advertisers. so I questioned why my post was criticized and all of a sudden members are telling me to go away and even jamie has told me to go elsewhwerr.
I know there are pog members here. What is going on. Except for links to travel sights and links to toys or goodies there isn’t much going on that is benefittting POG members yet everyone gets upset when a person tries to share good information. This is the site to come to. Do all POG members rally around the boss?

I’ve always wondered about what went down at POG regarding
Jon and Tom. I think they got censored for something but not sure what. Maybe
they can clear that mystery up here or maybe it’s just to far in the past to
really matter? But I knew immediately when PC started up that it was going to
be (and is) a way better site then POG ever was, hands down. There’s no reason
for POG to censor unless of course, they are afraid of their members turning on
them.Fred

Welcome to the club! I was banished from POG for the same type of thing. Jamie is a real butthead at times and thinks nobody should mention this site or anything to do with it. I had a good laugh since they were copying info from here to use on POG. Since there is hardly anyone left there anymore that knows anything, I find it strange that people still pay that guy anything.
If you want good, reliable knowledge about your coach, come here to PC. Save your money and frustration! Let all your friends know about PC too. They will appreciate it.

probably got singled out and will continue to be not wanted because
you are asking questions and if Jamie doesn’t like the questions,
he’ll use his censorship power. Others can probably post links and
make referrals to companies and services without any censorship, but
you’re a new guy and Jamie doesn’t care if you come or go. The loyal
followers, a very small group now, will follow along and not make any
noise, while posting links and info that you are prohibited from
doing.Your
biggest mistake was probably mentioning my name and company for
batteries, although I thank you very much for the compliment, but
Jamie see’s Jon and I as his enemy and will do anything possible to
keep us at a distance to his empire. Your new here and don’t know the
whole story, but there wouldn’t be a PC if Jamie’s predecessor would
have done the right thing, but greed got the best of him.I’ll
take a minute and explain the history so all of the new folks have a
clear picture. For those that don’t want to hear it, use your back
key.There
are a handful of us who are founding POG members and were at POG 1
when POG became a paying website after Prevost-Stuff’s free
discussion board was eliminated. Over the years the membership grew
like crazy and and it was the best Prevost site out there with many
great people who are friends today. As the POG rally in 2011 was
being structured, the owner Skiff came to us founding members and
asked for help as he didn’t have the money to upfront the down stroke
for the Campground Deposit. The 5 of us agreed to front the money and
we would then assume the Rally responsibility. We began the process
and worked months to get it all done. During that time, Skiff
approached us and asked if we were interested in buying POG and
Prevost -Stuff. We then went through about 30 days of due diligence
to determine if we wanted to make the purchase. When Skiff finally
decided on a price for the business, we immediately declined, another
whole story I won’t go into here, but as business men, we knew the
Easter Bunny didn’t exist.During
this time, we were talking to Skiff about the need for changes in the
sites and the concept of combining the two and getting Prevost
involved with one single entity being the survivor and growing the
business. He had no interest in the concept, even though we explained
that someone was going to do it.Knowing
that a different approach to the business was needed along with
accountability, the 5 of us kicked around starting new. Jon and I
decided to move forward as the other 3 guys had businesses and
companies to run and we had more time. Jon and I contacted Prevost
with the concept of PC, we were endorsed, supported and as you can
see by the Logo, allowed to use their Logo as part of our new name.
At the Austin Rally, Jon and I told Skiff what were going to do and
wished him well.Now
comes Jamie… At the Tampa Super Show I saw Jamie and we talked
about the birth of Prevost Community and I explained our goals. I
also explained if Skiff would have been reasonable, PC wouldn’t even
exist. Unknown to me, Jamie was at that time and before negotiating
with Skiff to purchase POG and Stuff. So he decides to buy the
businesses with the full understanding that PC has just been formed
and we would be a direct competitor to Stuff and will surely effect
the income stream. POG was a none issue, Jon and I were still members
and our goal at PC is to have all groups welcome on the free forum.
So Jamie spent his money knowing a new entity had just been started
and it would be a direct threat to his Stuff site. Not long after,
Jon and I are booted from POG and we really didn’t care because of
all the animosity by Skiff before Jamie bought the business with all
kinds of whacky tricks to run us off because Skiff was pissed off at
us.So,
today, Jamie labels us the enemy and anytime Jon or I or
Trans-Specialists might come up about batteries, he gets all bent out
of shape and rallies his followers in his censorship capabilities.
I think it’s sad. For those that would like to dispute these facts, I
was there, along with Jon and the per PC founding POG guys will stand
shoulder to shoulder with the facts at hand.Hope
this sheds some light to the rumors for the new folks and sorry it is
so ugly. Even at Prevost the comment was made by a POG member that
two guys are trying to ruin POG! That’s pure bullshit, most know the
truth. -
POG web site strictly controls all posts. With the low message count one could say that censorship has continued to you Harvey and to many others.
Harvey, $100 allows you to post anything meeting the standards set by Jamie.
When I was auto billed for renewal (2012) then e-mailed Jamie that I was not going to renew, Jamie in a matter of less then 15 minutes had deleted everything I had posted in 2 years.
There is no history of a Boateral ever being on POG. Here is an example of how POG unhelps its members. As everything I had posted was removed from POG the reference to POG members in Missouri and Kansas on a travel help desk went to the trash basket. So how does one say that POG helps anyone ? You end up in Missouri or Kansas with a problem at least you have a phone number of a local person to help you.
In the time I had help info posted received 2 calls.
I have no idea why anyone would pay $100 to be a member if your post content is then censored.

i just got a private message on pog and the guy told me that the reason I was chewed out was because I posted a link to an enemy of pog.
I don’t know who the players are because I am a newbie but jamie the boss and a couple of his members sure want me to leave and you can bet they won’t see my $100 again. I don’t belong in that club. and the forum sucks.

Tom left out some information. For more than a year we tried to get Jim Skiff to use Prevost Stuff to be what PC is. POG is a social group just like the Prouds, the Bikers, and the various converter specific clubs. The problem with fragmenting the Prevost enthusiasts is unless and until all can come together on one site and at a rally neither the converters or Prevost can’t justify the support they provided when the Prevost Prouds were the only Prevost group. The Prevost prouds had fantastic rallies with strong support from all converters and Prevost including service trucks and a Prevost service facility sometimes set up in a large tent.
With that level of support the rallies often had in excess of 200 coaches and we never left the rallies with unaswered questions or service issues. As owners we wanted to get back to that situation so as owners we could have all the technical support and sharing of information, the quality seminars, and the opportunity to meet all of our on-line friends.
We wanted to have Prevost Stuff be the site to supplement the forums or web sites of the other social groups and which was open to all. The fact Prevost supported the concept was proof of the need. Skiff refused and worse, if Jamie was in fact almost the owner at that point he never followed up on those conversations in which we made it abundantly clear we owners need a comprehensive site open to all.
Three months before it was announced Jamie owned POG Tom and I announced at the Austin POG rally what we intended to do and we emphasized we supported POG and wanted to continue to be contributing members. We saw PC as a supplement to POG. Jim Skiff was told prior to our efforts to enlist the support of Prevost what we were doing and as soon as we learned Prevost would support our efforts we told Jim before it was made public.
It was quickly made apparent we were no longer welcome as POG members. We don’t know if it was Skiff or Jamie that played with us but Tom was denied access several times, my PM settings were changed and generally we were the victims of mischief from the POG administrator. We were both told we were the enemy. If POG members are voting with their feet then it is because they are not getting $100 worth of value. It is clear from visiting the POG site that there is a core membership group that has the same feelings about us being the enemy and we don’t expect that will change. I just hope some day they will learn the truth.

What a shame it came to “us and them”. In life and business it does happen. I’m a member of a few sites, to include POG. I get the right answers on both sites depending on my question. Of course the rule of numbers leads to more of the right answers here.
FWIW, I found a very similiar situation when I was a Monaco (Beaver) owner. Then, like now, I visited each, found value in each, and made welcomed contributions to each.

I echo what Gil says. If I knew POG was mad at Jon and Tom I wouldn’t have posted a link to help someone that had battery issues.
I’m on both sites (for now and until I read the posts above I did not know why I was having such a hard time over at pog. Now I know. I guess there is a click over there that doesn’t want outsiders and they are happier reading posts about travel sites and links to stuff like weird motorhomes than sharing information.
That sight was supposed to be a good one, but it is not.

It’s too bad that stuff like this has to happen!!! But with that said I’m not renewing my membership either. Tom sorry that I didn’t get back to you on the batteries but was in a real hurry to get back on the road. I’m in St. Paul heading to Texas

Just hang out here on PC, it is tons better than POG, especially with Jamie the censor in charge. Better info here too!

Do we really need to hear this juvenile, divisive, petty bickering again? Why doesn’t PC make a group over in the private forums for this entitled “BASH POG” and another “BASH THE PROUDS” and a third “BASH WHOEVER TODAY”. Then all of you who feel so inclined can go there and flick boogers at other groups while not publicly dragging the rest of us down to that level merely by association through common membership.

The man was censored for posting.a message trying to help someone as I understand. You came over here and posted your feelings and I believe the powers that be will let it stand. It’s your opinion ….. you have a right to express it.
Say what you like but …. petty …..probably is a fit title for the owner of POG

While I agree with your post conceptually, Tom and I are in a tough spot. need2camp started the thread because he wanted to vent. I would prefer to not have negative discussions about other Prevost groups but I do know we do not want to become censors unless the topic is completely inappropriate such as politics.
If we encourage or start those kinds of rants about other groups we alienate their members and to be honest we want every owner from every group on our site and at our rallies. Our posts above tried to give the background because we know the real story and it is not that we are setting out to damage or destroy any group. We would like to be a supplement to all the other groups’ web sites.
