Liberty has had variations. My first Liberty had separate black and gray tanks, Not all have a gray water by-pass.
What has me unable to state anything with confidence is if the coach came with an aluminum holding tank it was likely replaced and if that is the case whoever replaced it likely made a change to how it is set up to dump, hence the original suggestion to get a nearby Liberty owner to take a look at the coach.
