  • WHERE TO NEXT?

Oysterfest was a winner by all measurements. We all met a lot of new friends, renewed contact with old friends, ate some good food, learned a little, laughed a lot and now it is over.

So the question was asked regarding the next rally or no-rally rally.

We already set 4/22/2016 as the opening date for the next Oystyerfest. But the questions about the next rally seem to be relating to a September or October rally.

I think I will open the floor for discussion.

Keep in mind one important thing. As rallies grow in size of attendees a good location is very difficult to reserve and as long as the economy is strong people are going to rallies and planning has to be long range. Six months (if that is when another rally is desired) is a very short time and the chances of getting a good venue will be slim.

You can come to Hearthside in September and we would have plenty of room for you. Last year the weather was absolutely gorgeous in September plus and the leaves are changing so it’s really beautiful. October would be pushing it a bit. It can be getting a little chilly by then. Marathon is having their Quebec City rally September 14 thru 19. You could come right before or right after that. Just sayin

Hat Creek Ranch has a lot of water troughs for the busses as well as seperate corrals to keep those Liberty busses from fighting with those CCs and Marathons, to say nothing about keeping them from getting beat up by the Royales. Lots to eat. Organic Cow Pies for those tree huggers. The list goes on and on.

I could never be opposed to Hat Creek… heard too many good things about the owners…. Peter and Trina are wonderful folks…

I’m not crazy about the generator being my only source of power however we have done it before and I would do it again !! They are built to used right!! We ran our genset at a Prouds Rally in New Orleans for 5 straight days running 3 & 4 a/cs day and night !!

I would drive to Wyoming just to meet Peter, but somewhere a bit easier to get to might give more members a chance to attend. Colorado and New Mexico would be hard to beat that time of year. Buckhorn is also a great facility and in a good area to explore offsite. Utah would be beautiful but might start getting difficult for the eastern members. Well the longer I type the more I realize I just want to go. Viva No Rally Rallies !!!
