It’s called Qest and is suppose to be compatable with Poly B, Pex, etc. I found it a local good ole boy hardware store after the owner dug through some old totes, remembering he used to carry it. If I wouldn’t have been able to find the parts, I probably would have used shark bites.

I have bought that stuff at Home Depot and a True Value before. My coach has the Manablock manifold in the plumbing bay and all the lines to the various locations are run with that grey tubing.

If this isn’t PB what is it? Are there any markings in the piece of pipe pictured? FWIW, those fittings look exactly like the PB fittings I used in the past. Of course there is little difference in fittings used on PB and PEX. This is apparent looking at the conversion fittings I posted earlier.

The PB pipe and fittings in my two previous coaches was excellent and provided good service in a lot of homes.
The problem was excessive exposure to high levels of chlorine caused failures. So if you do have the gray piping and fittings and you do use chlorox to sanitize the system do not use excess amounts and after sanitizing flush the system completely.

Beats the hell out of me, the label pictured says “compatible with Poly B.” When I was looking for the parts back in 09, the Depot folks said they used to carry it, but not anymore.
Dan – I’ll get it headed your way, this is the exact stuff used in your Liberty, whatever you want to call it.

I’m going to call it “the anonymous grey Tom Stuff”. My wife is a teacher, and she says we can spell it grey or gray without regard to whether it is dark gray or light grey, now what a relief that is!

Went to the home depot yesterday in Titusville, and they had a unique sharkbite coupling that would seal to the poly buty… stuff on one end, and to your choice of pex, cpvc, or copper on the other end. So I got a couple of those. But I plan to use “the anonymous grey Tom Stuff” that he is sending to me if I can.

Hold on Dan, going out Priority Mail tomorrow. My alternative at the time was also shark bite, but I didn’t have to after finding the grey/gray hickies..

Finally fixed the hot water line going to the washer today. It was probably just a fitting that leaked, but I had cut the grey poly B line and plugged it due to limited time available.
The fix was simple. Only needed one of the fittings (grey poly B) that Tom sent me last year, and a piece of half inch pex tubing (red) which I had from another project. Thank you Tom, and if anyone else needs this grey stuff, I will send it along.
For future reference, we now know that pex tubing, half inch, will seal up with the poly B compression fittings that use the half olives. Didn’t need those shark connectors.

I have a ;eak in the same place and will be getting into the closet tomorrow to try to find the cause. Keep me in mind for those fittings, please.
