Jerry and Pam: I’ve learned over the years that it isn’t good to start an engine (especially a diesel) to just “start it and warm it up” without taking it out and driving it. If the engine/trans isn’t brought up to full temperature which from my experience with our coach in cool, cold, or very cold weather is almost impossible to do, there isn’t enough temperature to “cook out” any condensation and blow-by that ends up in the oil pan or transmission sump. I will start the coach if I have to reposition it, but once I’ve got it moved I shut it off. Our coach has sat for months and started without a problem. I think its better to let them sit versus “warming them up” without taking them out for a good 40 to 60 mile run.
