Bill, don’t guess you carry a heated steering wheel for winter time driving???
The older I get the more I appreciate the heated steering wheel in our Ram.
It is hard to believe but I still have the driving gloves I got for my birthday 55 years ago – MG days…
The driving gloves do keep my hands warmer and look way cooler than snow mittens.

What is the actual size on that wheel, Bill?
“We sell that exact four spoke wood model. You can also get it in a two spoke version We are a dealer for “Steering Creations”. The wheel is sold separately from the hub. The wheel retails for around $1500 and the hubs run from $500 to $1000 depending on which hub is needed.( I will have to look & see which hub I used on my bus) This wheel is imported from Taiwan. We also can get wheels from Italy for lots more money.”

On our 95 Prevost/96 Liberty its:
20″ outside to outside, with a 4+ outset, which puts the wheel 2″ from the turn signal arm when its in the low beam position. When you pull the arm to flash the hi beams it almost touches the SW

Les, A heated steering wheel is in the works. Don’t know how far out, but I will let you know.
Don, most after market steering wheels are 18″ diameter. Larger diameter wheels are not as important as they used to be, before power steering. Lots of leverage was needed to turn the darn thing at low speeds. I will check to see what dish/depth wheels are available. When I changed mine from the factory one, and I think that it looked like yours, I have had no issues with the turn signal stalk.
The hub needed is a 1″ diameter/ 36 spline. The Freightliner one I used, fit perfectly on the shaft and on the height of my controls. My old bus is a 1990 and I not sure if they changed the shaft, but I doubt that they did. Heck, they were still using ball & seat mounting of their wheels years after the trucking industry went to hub piloted ones.

Bringing back an old thread.
Anyone upgrade to a modern 4 spoke (e.g. ViP 4S) on an XL?
Looking to downsize the gigantic bus wheel to an 18 like the newer buses.
Put in a call to VIP; but they were not very helpful.
Thanks!

I brought my 4 spoke wooden 18″ steering wheel from:
they have a large selection or they did when I ordered back in Feb 2022.
Had to edit this post….looks like Bob’s Chrome Zone at the above website is no longer in business. But I believe an 800 series SCI steering wheel will fit the Prevost. That’s what I have on my XL. I just had to slightly enlarge the holes by a fraction because the screws were a hair tight.

Thanks Jerry!
I will look into the SCI wheel.
Quick follow up:
SCI has a prevost hub : part # 835 for the 800 series wheels.

It would be nice to swap out the 21″ wheel for something smaller to reduce driver fatigue and feel less like a transit bus driver

I am going to install one of these, I thing a nice steering wheel is one of the most underrated things we can do to our Vehicles for looks and comfort.

I have hit my first hurdle, I can’t decide which one to get. Any Help would be appreciated.
I am leaning towards a wood version, but there are a bunch of cool ones.
