Sorry Dick what I meant is the old ones give no idea of when they will crap out they are Delco or I think Denso if that’s the spelling, sorry , the new ones are way lighter and more reliable than the old ones , the new ones are Mitsubishi model it’s the only one prevost sells now for replacement !!!

While I fully understand your need for a trouble free coach and agree with the steps you have taken to avoid issues I have learned the hard way that no matter how hard I have tried something beyond my control left me in a difficult position.

Some things I can cope with such as a failed alternator. I can run my generator and battery charger. My water pump now has back up for the house. There are other things as you know that I have done to minimize disruptions.

But the engine and transmission are complex enough that we can literally be shut down due to a sensor, ECM, bad fuel, etc. Do you carry any spares to address those issues?

I agree Jon while we try to have a trouble free coach some things your can not for see, I carry most sensors as spares , and spare belts and fuel filters with a can of spare fuel to fill filter with , but you can not carry everything that’s why I have your number, Toms , and Jeff’s and Prevosts , just in case of trouble at least I can bitch to somebody about the problem on the road . I also carry fuses, 24 volt relays and a bottle of Crown Royale in case of a overnight stay !!!! LoL!!

Well changed out stater today and relay 30 pounds lighter and improved fuel mileage 1 mile per gal because of less wait and it sounds way better when you start it now

Peter, I followed your example and I removed our starter….. now, the fuel gauge doesn’t move at all.

After reading a number of your posts, I now figure I couldn’t afford to buy your coach even if you were selling, since you probably have doubled the price with all those new parts you fixed or put on for preventive purposes!
