Pre-Heating the engine

I find it hard to believe that there’s a valve on a Prevost that Jon hasn’t touched.

Jon is correct, I turn off the Prevost coolant loop for the dash.
Tim – there are two valves, one down below the fan clutch assembly and the other one is behind the removable panel driver side, rear small door where the Webasto lives. It takes many turns on the two valves to open or close. That takes the coolant away from the dash, no heat if it gets cold.

That answer regarding valves should be addressed by a late model H3 Liberty conversion owner. Or Liberty. Your valves are likely identified with tags which define their purpose but you may have to remove the rear fender to get at them or see them because I think your Webasto is over the driver’s side drive axle. I don’t have a clue where the Prevost loop and shut off valve would be.
Valve locations are coach type and converter specific, and may even be specific to a particular model year.
And to address Mike’s comment I probably have operated them all because I have to turn the handle on the valves 90 degrees to get them out of the way so I can polish the copper piping.

After reading all of the posts, I got up last night about 10:30 and drove over to the bus. I started the Webasto and in about 20 minutes of run time the temp gage on the dash had come up about 50 degrees and the coolant hoses back in the engine compartment were warm as Tom said they would be. On my 99 XLV Marathon the valves that everybody are talking about are in the compartment behind the tag axel on the drivers side, both valves are just above the Webasto. I don’t know which one is for the coach and which one is for the engine, as neither is marked. I also assume that the switch on the dash marked block heat, actually is an oil heater used to help keep the oil warm, to ease starting the engine. I’ve never touch the valves and as someone said on the OTR coaches, when the wife gets cold going down the road, I would think that if the valve was shut off, I would not be able to turn the temp up slightly, or am I mistaken.

Unless your bus was modified, there is no oil heater, your engine pre heat will come from the Webasto.
As for the valves, you will likely have more than two, you are correct. If you turn off the Prevost dash loop, you will have no heat.
