Possible No rally rally
We have reserved sites at Marina Bay RV resort in Kemah TX for a 1/4 arrival and a 1/10 departure. Larry and Diane Byrd will be joining us. So if anyone else wants to come on down to the Galveston Bay area contact the RV resort at 281-334-9944. I have been talking to Sandy at the resort.
There is no agenda, but I am pretty sure we will be finding some nice restaurants, we may sit around swapping lies, and generally find ourselves doing a lot of nothing.

Whenever you get set up, Betty and I would like to come to Kemah and join you guys for dinner or some other fun…The first of the month always catches us under the gun but if we can get through the first few days,,..we might bring the coach…..there are several places to eat that might be interesting…not only in Kemah but in Galveston… not far away… Landry’s is on the entrance / exit waterway to Clear Lake… also, if there is an interest, I could try to arrange for us all to go to Lakewood Yacht Club for dinner….there are some pretty boats but few like those in Florida…even though there are more sailboats in Clear Lake harbors than in any harbor in America…

Still raining this morning…3 3/4 ” in the last 48 hours…. seems to be leaving according to the radar… If you would like to do so, we can come by about 5 p m at the RV resort Sunday afternoon…..I will call Landry’s for us and see if they take reservations… I can make them for the group… I believe there will be no problems…

I just now saw this message and had already called and left you a voicemail.
Yes the rain is supposed to be gone by noon today…in Lufkin at least.
That sounds great for Sunday at 5pm.
I am a member of all of Tillman’s restaurants and can get first available seating in any of his places that don’t take reservations, some of them do and some of them don’t… however I would think Sunday night shouldn’t be a problem.

We are about 290 miles away in a compground and should be there in Kemah by tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to it.

That’s good Jon… you must have run over 500 miles today… puts you in Mississippi or LA I guess.
We should arrive about the same time and luckily this horribly stormy weather has left the area but they say we are in for a cold snap but nothing like this time last year I hope.

I haven’t looked at the distance covered, but it is somewhere around 600 to 650 miles.
At the blazing speed of 62 MPH I can cover a lot of ground in a day. It is amazing how many drivers go blowing by our rather conservative speed and how often they do that over the course of a day. Some drivers havde passed us at least five times during our trip yesterday. I don’t know how fast they are going, but I do know they must have to drive fast to compensate for all the time they must spend not driving. We may be slow, but we sure are steady.
