Congrads on hitting the 1800 members. I can remember as if it was yesterday hearing 100. Pretty exciting hitting the 1000 mark. So what happens at 2000 ?
What a great group of people enjoying this hobby.

I think that when it hits the 2000 mark we all get free dues for the next year…at least that is what I think I heard somewhere….

That is an excellent Idea! I would think a one year notice would be good (not at tax time).
It would be nice to see 100 Prevosts of all years together!

All of the Liberty’s can be on the front row and all of the other brands can be, well, over there—-> somewhere. (sorry guys…. of SOB’s).

The Prevost Proud pre-FMCA rallies in the early to mid 90’s would have upwards of 200 coaches at rallies so it is not beyond the imagination to try to pull hundreds of coaches together.
If it can ever happen that several hundred of us could come together for a rally we would have logistical issues of major proportions, but it can be done. There just has to be a desire among the members to make it happen. When I first posted my desire to see it happen the response was underwhelming.
All groups of Prevost owners and enthusiasts would have to buy into the concept. If we could all pull together it can happen. I can assure you it will be a Prevost rally that will end all rallies. Every vendor, sales outlet, converter, etc would be there. We could get seminars, activities, and information of the highest quality and quantity. No single RV resort or campground would hold us all. We would literally have to have acres of parking.
The most impressive part of such a rally, apart from seeing hundreds of coaches parked side by side, would be if each group would stage in one location and caravan to the rally site.
We were in the middle of a 200 bus caravan from Tuscon to Las Cruces at one rally and we will never forget a line of Prevost coaches in front and back as far as the eye can see.

About the only facilities that could handle that many coaches would state or regional fair grounds, big horse tracks, or race tracks.
It would be impressive.

Anyone up for putting a feasibility/organising committee together? I’m a bit too far away to perhaps help practically in the early stages should anything go ahead, but I am more than happy to give any input and also to jump on a plane to help out as & when any such event goes ahead. I agree with Dick on suitable locations.
Quartzite seems to happen every year (I know that is slightly different but it still involves multiple RV’s) so why not a big event with Prevosts? Plus perhaps other bus conversions and prospective Prevost owners too?
I would suggest 2017 at the earliest, a) to give time to organise something and b) there aren’t any global sports events such as the Olympics or World Cup scheduled.

That is always the question, not to mention conflicts with everyone’s personal schedules. As for me, I’d suggest we all get together and go to Peter’s farm – in a convoy even!

I hate to state the obvious, but the location is less important than having the right access to display space, evening entertainment, facilities for seminars, etc. Our buses were mean to drive so we should not let location be a controlling factor.
Way back in the old days we went to Prevost Proud rallies in such diverse locations as Pamona CA, Tuscon, Orlando, Washington DC (Cherry Hill), South Bend, Colorado Springs, Biloxi, and Nashville all when we lived in NY state. They were a great excuse to go somewhere.
We would have to dry camp unless we found an RV park with several hundred spaces. But that shouldn’t matter because we all have generators.
If anyone wants to form a committee you have my support. Once the feasibility is established and there is assurance it will work Tom and I will pull as much support for this as we can from Prevost and advertisers. I can say your plans have to go at least two years out, maybe more and it will not work without support from the Prouds, the Texas Prouds, the bikers, POG, etc. We’ve tried and we hit a wall.

How about checking into the INdianapolis Motor Speedway. I can just see along pit road with Prevosts backing in on the diagonal facing the front stretch. Its a little off center and above the geographic centroid of America. Any body have contacts there?

We have attempted to get this going in the past and had no interest from the Converters, Coach Sales entities and especially the various groups. The groups all want to do their own thing and maintain their nitch and are reluctant to get involved. Why, I haven’t a clue.
If the groups would all come together on the concept, the industry would follow and it could probably happen. The various groups could maintain their individuality, be parked together and everyone could come together for the various functions.
So I agree, the venue could be just about anywhere that could accommodate the large group. The Indy Fairgrounds can accommodate large groups and that’s a good example.
I’m good with a committee if there is an interest. Jon and I have our plates full, so the committee could do the research and try to get some interest from the groups as well as idea’s on venue. You would have to have everyone in on the concept to make it work.
Jon and I can provide the direction, but we can’t do the heavy lifting right now.

Agree with Jon & Tom on the inclusive thing. I think perhaps a way to make it work, is to present it as not being driven by any one group, ie not PC or POG or anyone else. Take ego’s and personalities out of it. Make it a Prevost-first rally. Can anyone organise a conference call with the events officers of the Prouds, POG etc? Before that though, perhaps a suitable pitch needs putting together first.
Another thought I had is to start a ‘Prevost Rally brainstorming thread’. Somewhere to brain dump suggestions or volunteer to take part somehow.
Let’s show the politicians how to do it! I’m sure there are enough clever and selfless people here and in other Prevost groups to make it happen.

If you wish, start the thread. And if you form a committee and wish to contact each group you can use our forum for the group’s discussions.. If as a group you want to work behind the scenes but have a common meeting place we can make use of the private forum that is not being used to the extent intended. We can make it yours for the purpose of pulling everyone together for conversations in one spot.
If you need it we can ask Prevost or one of our converters for names and contact info on every known group.
As Tom said we both have our plates full right now, primarily with the seminar, but other matters as well. I think by early fall we can be both available if we are needed for anything.
One observation………..Prevost Community is not a club, group, or any kind of social organization. All we view PC as is a common meeting place for all Prevost enthusiasts and we hope it has members from every club, group or organization that exists. Nothing has changed since Tom and I created PC. We just want a place where we all can come together to take advantage of our collective strength. That may have to be repeated so some groups out there do not see such a rally as a PC rally. We really don’t care what it is called, or who pulls it together. But as owners of a Prevost we know if it can be made to happen it will be awesome.

It would have been great to be able to announce this at last night’s Oysterfest dinner, but it wasn’t until this morning that we crossed 1900 members.
As of this writing, just about 2 1/2 months from when it was reported we had 1770 members, we now stand at 1903 registered members and we are still growing faster than than ever.
Welcome aboard to all new members, enjoy the site, the forum and the great people that are the Prevost Community.

Dang Jon, with the numbers approaching 2000 and the dues collected from that number of folks, Tom has a pretty good down payment for his Last New Bus with Slides doesn’t he.
