Oyster Fest 2015 – A No Rally, Rally

Ah, the TRUTH about Nancy NOT wanting slides is finally coming out. Scrooge McDuck Tom, just wants to keep all that Dues Money stashed in his 401K.

Sandy and I drove around this morning after coffee and counted 35 Prevost coaches in the resort. -
Since tomorrow is an open day I hope everyone has enjoyed themselves at this rally and can take advantage of the left over beverages and snacks.
We have the community building through tomorrow and there are plenty of refreshments in case anyone wants to use the building to socialize, have a drink or just relax.
See you all tomorrow and if the rain does occur we will likely hang out in the community building for a while.

We are heading back home in the morning, wish Stepanie and I could have meet and spent some time with everyone of you. Just wasn’t enough time. Really enjoyed making new friends and thanks again to the folks that made this rally happen.

Safe travels home all !! Loved meeting everyone… seems like there is never enough time to visit with everyone we want to visit with… anyway we had a wonderful time and are headed home today !!

This was our first Prevost related event. It was so nice meeting a lot of the people that I have chatted with on the threads and meeting new people. Looking forward to the next event!

Big Thanks to Tom, Nancy, Jon and Di and the sponsors who paid for the goodies and the food. It would hard to have a better time even if it would have been an Official real Rally! These No rally Rallies are great. Was real nice to see a lot of old friends we had not seen in somne time and to meet so many new people. Once Tom and Jon learn to control the weather then they will be able to host a perfect rally.
Made it home safe after 10.5 hours on the road. About 5 hours of that was in pouring rain, but everyone was actually driving with at least half a brain and we did not see one wreck.

appreciate the kind words, but the members are what make the Rally a
success. It shows when things are winding down each day and folks
just naturally jump in and help clean up and offer any assistance
needed. I think it all went pretty well and as Grizz pointed out, we
had 35 Coaches.I’m
sure Jon will jump in here as well, but I would like to know if the
format of a No Rally, Rally is something that everyone enjoyed,
versus the full blown 4 – 5 days of structured agenda’s? Our goal
was to offer a no cost Rally with lots of free time to do what you
want, without compromising the food and fun. Was 2 – 3 days a good
time frame or should it be a day longer?The
visiting of members with each other and comparing bus notes is
priceless. Having the time to interact with each other and kick tires
is what it’s all about. If you have a suggestion to make the Rallies
better, please discuss it here on the forum.Leaving

As first time rally participants, we were pleased to find the members we met to be fun, informative, and helpful.

Karen & I would also like to add our thanks to Jon, Di, Tom, Nancy and the participating PC sponsors for a really great weekend. It was our first “No Rally Rally”, but certainly will not be our last. We enjoyed meeting new folks, putting faces with some of the “screen names” we recognized, and leave with at least some of our Prevost operating questions answered (the ones that i remembered to ask!!). We’re looking forward to seeing some familiar faces when we get together again at Jeff’s in July.

I echo what Tom said above. Rallies are great because the people that attend them are great and that opinion is reinforced every time we have had a PC rally. The best part of rallies is meeting old friends and having the opportunity to meet new ones.
Tom won’t say this but I will. He and Nancy worked very hard to make this happen and to coordinate everything so we could have some good planned sessions and great meals. He arranged for the sponsorhip by our advertisers, he shopped for the beer soda, wine, ice, donuts, and coffee. He massaged and printed the agenda and shopped for the goody bag items. I am not kidding when I say he and Nancy did it all and he needs to be recongnized for that.
Regarding Tom’s question about a rally with limited structure compared to a full blown rally with planned activities, entertainment, meals, etc. we need to know your thoughts as members. A structured rally with a full agenda offers a lot of fun and we can do seminars, offer most meals, arrange entertainment, etc. but they take a lot of money and effort to create. A no rally rally offers very little in the way of filling an agenda, and to be a success it relies on those attending to socialize and provide for their own meals and entertainment.
We have learned from doing both types each has its benefits, but we need feedback from you.
If the concensus is a formal agenda and planned schedule we willl need volunteers.

I really like the way No Rally rallies work. This one was almost perfect. Add 1 day so most people could be there 2 full days. Arrivial day is always a rush to get parked and cleaned up before Meet and Greet at 4 or 5 PM.
Day 1 Arrivial and Meet and Greet
Day 2 Morning round table, seminars, etc.
Afternoon, walk around and visit everyone at coaches, get to know new faces, 5 PM happy hour get together
Day 3 Repeat day 2, except, 4 PM happy Hour, 5 PM catered dinner or pot luck dinner
Day 4, good bye breakfast or social and depart
Day 2 & 3 afernoons would also be a good time to go site seeing, or have coach worked on by vendors.
Rudy was a big help to me on my Aqua Hot. He solved a problem that has been driving me crazy for about a year. Would be nice if we could get Rudy and other vendors to show up and deal with small issues.
Some structure in the schedue that gets everyone together for social time and a lot of free time to wander around and visit seems to work for most of us. Too much in the schedule makes it hard to find time to visit and explore. But most of us do benefit from the eductional aspect of the round table descussions, just set a time limit on how long.
