Oyster Fest 2015 – A No Rally, Rally

It’s getting close to the rally date and I haven’t seen anything posted asking for donations or help! Maybe I missed it.
So, is there anything we can bring, make a financial donation, or participate in some manner to ‘pay our way’? I hate to think that Jon and Tom are covering all the festivities!

Jon and Tom are paying each and every coach that comes $500 (it’s coming out of our dues).

Grizz,
You are going to have to pay for your own site at Bella Terra. That’s it. Tom has worked very hard to put together some great meals and treats. Our advertisers support us and we will not only be mentioning them at the rally get togethers, but after the rally we are going to post their names to encourage our members to deal with them whenever possible.
We did a few rallies and I think we even made a few dollars on them, but a formal rally is way too much work and what we net from them doesn’t begin to reflect the effort so our rallies are going to be the kind where we all just get together with very little in the form of an agenda, more for the ability to meet friends and enjoy being together.
However, if you want to wash my bus or wax my car as a token of appreciation don’t hesitate. My oil needs changing, and a new set of tires would be great. Or just come with your bride and introduce yourself as the guy who started it all.

Tom: I did see that post, but not until you had the bartender volunteers and I don’t have a golf cart. However, there is a possibility that we will arrive a couple of days early (if Prevost Jax gets us done early). I’ll be happy to help out wherever capable.
Also, I saw where Jon wanted free beer and ‘whine’. I can give him all the whining he wants for a couple of beers.

Good idea Grizz, listen to Jon whine while drinking his beer. He keeps the bay fridge full of foamy stuff for just such an occasion.

We are at Bella Terra on site 604 waiting on the rest of the crowd to show up. Two pieces of info that might help you.
1. The local Loves is at exit 44 on I-10 and price on the pump late Friday was $2.54.
2. There is a much easier way to get to Bella Terra now. Take new EXIT 49 from I-10. This exit will most likely not be listed on your GPS or paper maps, it is brand new.
From I-10, take Exit 49 (Baldwin Beach Exp/ Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach), continue south approximately 13 miles before turning left at the 3rd red light to continue south on the Foley Beach Exp. You’ll follow it another 8 miles south before turning right onto Brinks Willis Road. Bella Terra is ¼ mile east of the Expressway off Brinks Willis Road.
This route is MUCH faster then using Exit 44 and Hwy 59.

Andre, just fueled at that Loves about 3hr ago. You’re right about exit 49…discovered it by accident last Oct returning from BT. See you Thurs…we’re on our way to NOLA. Geo.

I printed out your directions as we’ll be leaving Wednesday working our way to Foley. Our first stop will be Meridian, MS. I wanted to break up the drive as it’s 420 miles from TN.

So Joe and I were checking the weather and wondering, since it looks like monsoon season is starting early in LA if Bella Terra is going to wash away before we get there?! I sure hope y’all are planning to use your connections to order up some sunshine ’cause I have been promised beach time to go w my oysters!☀ï¸ðŸŒŠðŸ„

I had the bus washed today between thunderstorms !! We head out around noon tomorrow and I believe we will be in scattered thunderstorms all the way to Bella Terra with more to follow at Bella Terra… sure hope all these forecasts are wrong !!
Does anyone know if they have a local bus washing service.. I think we had our bus washed there a couple of years ago but can’t remember for sure.
