There won’t be a hula girl, but I’m thinking one of those bobble head dogs on the rear hat shelf might work.

What I am trying to avoid is messing with it too much, you know, like taking a perfectly good Country Coach and sticking a plastic shield on it.

    Mark,

I forgot to answer your question about the original hub caps.

The new chassis comes with power disc brakes and the hubs are larger than the original 1950 Ford hubs. The original wheels have a hole in the center that is too small to go over the hubs.

So there was no choice but to order new wheels with a center hole large enough. But that was not as easy as it sounds. First, the differential is slightly wider than the original. So I had to order wheels that had no less “backspace” than the originals. Available steel wheels with the lugs that the orignal hub caps snap over were not as easy to find compared to just finding a non-original wheel so I went the easy way and ordered the American Racing wheels.

I think steel wheels with the hub caps and trim rings would look just as nice and certainly appropriate, but I like the “cool” factor the new wheels have.

I’m heading to FL on Saturday to try to help Tom withstand the abuse he has been getting from Jeff. I am hoping to get some photos of the car and bus hooked up on the way. The restorer wants to add some photos of that to his web site.

I’ll post them when I take them.

I want to know why Jeff is in FL tormenting Tom instead of working on all the coaches at his shop?? Is he on vacation with Tom and Nancy working on finding Tom’s next bus (with slides)?

This is the big Liberty Super Bowl rally week and Jeff has been pressed into service to help Liberty with the service work during that week.

In the meantime the word is that it is party time at ETLC. I think Josh ordered a keg and the place is rocking.

I can’t wait to see Tom’s newest last bus.

    Party time at Jeff’s???

I’ll be there late Sunday. Probably little chance there will be anything left by then. Josh is way skinny so may get lucky.

Those Liberty’s must need a lot of maintenance if they had to contract Jeff’s services…more work than the factory guys can handle???

Any time a converter has a rally and a high number of their conversions in one spot they pull out all the stops and deliver whatever services their customers need. It isn’t so much as the number of problems, it is owners taking advantage of access to factory service people who know the conversion better than anyone, and can take care of issues large and small.

And in case anyone is not aware, Jeff was in charge of service at Liberty in Stuart at one time so he is very much an expert on Liberty coaches, as well as several other conversions that he worked on when he was with Buddy Gregg.

This is not a slam against conventional motorhomes, but a recognition of the fact when Prevost owners are at a rally with their converter, or if they are at the converter’s service facility they get outstanding service and customer support. I have witnessed the treatment conventional RV owners get at RV dealers and shake my head at so many things. We who own a Prevost can count on not only expert service work, but work that gets done quickly, correctly, and to the highest quality level. Liberty, like other converters is just making sure their customer’s needs are well taken care of.

Jeff came over here for some elder wisdom on how to keep the boys from installing a stripper pole in the shop.

Got to go Mark, the AC temp needs lowered….
