I am not sure, but when Colt used the word regress my understanding was that that was a slam against Liberty Coaches. Will the battle never end?

Colt, I’m not familiar with the term of a “drop door.” Could you explain?

Your Marathon probably has the older door like mine that opens with the key.

O.k. … not that I’m taking any shots at my Liberty brethen, but I do know that they put the electrical cord on the wrong side on Jon’s coach. What’s up with that…

Geo, I meant his primary retractable cord. He does have his secondary plug-in receptacle where he can hook up his 50′ extension cord on the other side of the bus in an emergency which is certainly an improvement over mine which doesn’t have that feature.

Now us Liberty guys are getting pot shots from a guy whose coach has no means whatsoever of getting shore power into it if the cord reel assembly contacts are faulty. What is this world coming to?
I’ll help answer this question about why the cord reel is on the wrong side. I’ll put it in context so the non-slide, non-EGR, non OTR folks can appreciate the dilemma solved by the folks at Liberty.
Prevost took away all options for the cord reel being on the street side when they put the EGR CAC along side of the radiator taking away the space behind the tag axle. They lost the space previously used on non-slide coaches for the cord reel when Prevost put the slide controls in the bay along side of the OTR evaporator coils, and since the fine Liberty coaches use a real whole coach heat and A/C system the other optional space on the street side was used for OTR.
So it is Prevost that took the decision from Liberty and forced the cord reel on the curb side. Liberty of course did the right thing and provided ample cord length in the range of 70 feet, unlike the shorter 35 foot length on lesser coaches.
I now fully expect the plastic Prevost coach guys driving the non-slide non-EGR coaches to respond but we all know which coach is best. I just hope everyone realizes the complexity of problem solving for converters and especially those well equipped coaches that have all the mundane features along with the rose petal dispensing systems now favored as an alternative to traditional waste disposal.

Without getting into a Liberty vs anything else discussion (may have to get one), I will say that the Vantare has 75′ of power cord and the reel is easily accessible to turn by hand if necessary. It does not dispense rose petals, but has dumps on either side. Just sayin…. Geo.

Ouch. Geo, that was harsh. That Jake fella is getting risky now picking on multiple people. We are going to cooking class today with Tim and because he has been picking on us I am not going to share my bread pudding with him.
Doesn’t everybody have water, sewer and electric hookups on both sides of the coach? I know the roase petals are street side only, but everything else is multiple sides.

Liberty also provided a wireless remote for the curb side cord reel with a range of 8 feet! Nice

Eating Cajun food should be required by law. Dat’s good stuff.
As to wireless remotes they have proven to not be the best performers. But Karl had his Liberty upgraded and I believe with his I phone he is capable of operating the curb side cord reel and having it plugged in automatically while he sits in the driver’s seat.
At least I think that is true.

My coach has a wireless key fob which operates the cord reel as well… “Who Dat”!
