No it was inside and they had to pull it out in order to get the fire completely out. Donnie Meyer is pretty sure it is a failure of the battery charging system but the fire ispecter has not arrived at a cunclusion so we are still waiting. I had just put new batteries and tires on it it the last month getting it ready for the winter travels.

Would a key to the building and the coach have helped the firemen get the fire out quicker? Much damage to the other units in the storage building?

I was the one that report the fire so all the damage was pretty much done before I discovered it. The batteries were put in by a Prevost service center.

I bought the batteries from Tom so I am hoping I can turn them in for warranty?

If Donny Meyer is confident of the cause a fire inspector is only going to repeat what Donny said. Hard to imagine any fire inspector with more knowledge about a Vantare than Donny,

Jeff Rowe has a great Liberty Elegant Lady. I know the coach and it is a first class ride. I don’t get anything out of the deal if you buy it. I just know someone is going to get a nice coach with a lot of recent updates.

We don’t know you and Teddy but I can only imagine the horror when you saw the fire. That gives me a big knot in my stomach seeing that picture.

So sorry to see that. I can only imagine what you lost on the inside. A true nightmare.

I know we have never met but I echo the sentiments of the others about your loss. I also agree with Peter about not being in the coach asleep, which brings up another point. I think Jon has brought this up before, but everyone should know where their fire extinguisher’s and emergency exits are. As a pilot we practice emergency procedures on a regular basis so when something like this happens, and the unthinkable happens, like being inside the coach when the fire starts, you will rely on muscle memory and get out safely. Hope you find a new coach soon.
