I didn’t know that either about Teflon tape. I thought white was “it”.

But I’ll bet that Jon Wehrenberg knew all about that stuff! He seems to know just about everything. In fact, he knows SO MUCH that he just might have insight into Tom’s next “last coach”.

I don’t use tape. I have been using a blue thread dope that Jeff turned me onto.

Prior to that used various pipe sealants, but rarely teflon tape.

I am not sure which is best, and am not in a position to suggest any one as being better than any other. I know as a left handed person it feels very awkward and uncomfortable using teflon tape applying it in the correct direction so painting sealant on threads just seems more natural.

For those of you RH people who think I am being silly about blaming which hand I use on sealing threaded fittings, just try zipping up you fly with your left hand. Report back how well that works for you.
