Little white button ???
Posted by Robert on January 5, 2014 at 1:01 pm92 Liberty Elegant Lady,
Anyone know what the little white push button switch below the intercom operates ? It has three wires orange red and yellow. The buttons like this in front of the rear wheel wells operate the docking lites below them but I can not figure this one out.
The button cap was broken when we got it and it looked like a hard place to reach so I procrastinated. Now going over all my procrastinated items and replaced this switch, checked all the obvious lights etc. Need help with this one.
Thanks

Are you calling the light over the door the porch light ? That light on this coach comes on with the rest of the starboard cargo lights. I do not see any other lights, even looked under the steps.

Do you guys have more of those lights down the sides of your coach ? Do they come on with a separate switch inside ? All of my lights on that side come on together with the starboard cargo switch inside including the light over the door. Maybe it was changed to operate that way,, not sure why.
There is a Red LED about 4″ to the left of the white push button switch, but that is for the alarm and the info on the alarm does not talk about a switch, it is armed by the fob.

I have a switch/light above the shore line connections (one on each side).
My other lights along the side come on with the cargo lights switches. These lights with the white buttons dont come on with those cargo light switches (so they are on seperate circuits for my coach).

Robert,
Your button is probably the door bell then. My porch light only works with the white button, but sounds like yours come on with the all the other starboard lights fromt the dash switch. My door bell is up in the cealing in the galley, can’t even see it.

On our Liberty, the porch light would come on with all the other starboard lights if the dash switch was turned on. However, you could also turn on only the porch light from outside the bus by pressing the white button next to the doorbell switch.

Thanks for the help, You guys were right on.
Tom, my door bell button is in the intercom panel.
Paul you got me thinking about the possibility of diodes controlling the feed from several switches.
Found the diode located in the front of the first bay in backwards allowing the dash and passenger swithes to backfeed the porch/door light.
Turned the diode around and working now.
Thanks again.,
Robert

Robert,
I just broke mine.. Any idea how it is mounted? Looks like no way to get in behind it, so hope there is an easy solution.

Tom, on occasion the switch is siliconed in place, however usually there is a nut on the back side. Access is through switch plate removal and vent that is near step well. Solder new wire leads on new switch then you will have enough slack to use butt connectors to existing wires.

The one I broke was located below the door bell near the front door. I was able to reach it after removing the air vent near the floor beside the passenger seat. It did have a nut on the back side and the wires had push on spade connectors.
