Okay, this is gonna happen then. I wonder if the folks at Remco do installations. I see they’re just up in Des Moines. My two local Remco dealers are just RV dealers. Not sure I trust them. Also not sure I trust myself.
What about baseplates? I was planning on just buying one from Blue Ox, but I’m guessing it’ll now have to be custom made. I do have a Blue Ox tow bar I bought from another PC member, but haven’t used it yet. How would you guys approach this?

I have made my own base plates for 4 of the 5 different cars we have towed. I used scraps of steel I welded and secured to the frame with high quality bolts, usually 1/2 or 5/8 bolts.
The hardest part is placement so the distances for whatever attaches is right and so it looks OK on the vehicle. I bought the one on my Hummer because it was relatively cheap, maybe because that vehicle would have been the easiest to make myself.

Chad, you might try Council Hitch in Council Bluffs Ia. They’ve installed all of mine, I’m not sure but they might be able to build you a base plate. Might be worth a call.

As for the drive line disconnect, It’s a simple installation that any auto repair garage should have no problem with. It’s just a mater of exchanging the drive shaft with the one supplied by Remco and mounting a couple of brackets.for the connect/disconnect cable. Call me and I can explain better than here.

Well, I had to skip town for a week with little notice. I just got back to the Cadillac late last night. She still runs great. I’ll make those calls this week and see if I can move this project along.
John, I can see why you scooted out of Florida when you did – the heat and humidity are brutal in July! Perhaps I should shed a few pounds.

Yep, It sure is nice here on the Mountain. It was 66 this morning.
