Marathon is 300 yards off I-75 at Highway 52 (Dade City) exit 285.. There is also a Flying J for reference. Turn East on 52 go under overpass. Flying J on left, Marathon about 200 yards further on the left.
You can also spend the night in their parking lot. 50 Amp hookups.

Fred…thanks. I’ve $tayed at Marathon many time$. I’m heading south so that would be an extra 2 hours and 15 minutes minimum to drive to unhook at Marathon, drive to Clearwater, back to Marathon, and then south past Tampa again to continue my trip south down I-75. I’m looking for place where I can unhook the toad close to where I turn west from I-75 to Clearwater so I’m not going so far out of my way yet not have to drive the bus and toad thru Tampa and Clearwater.

Jimmy you might want to try heading West on I-4, stay in the right lane as you
enter I-4 and park in the Hard Rock Casino parking lot for several hours.
Another place which could be better is the Fair Grounds just south of
I-4. It is the first exit after you go West onto I-4, then left
across the Interstate and on the right about 1/8 mile. I do not know what
is happening at the Fair Grounds right now, or as you get here. That
would be an easy off and on back to 75 South.

Another
place could across from the Fair Ground in a business park. I could talk you to it if you want to give me
a call 727 207-5085 and then go to Google Earth and I can show them to you.

I did think about the Fairgrounds but not Parliament. Both great suggestions…thank you. Parliament is right on my route and an ideal stop. I will give them a call.

Plus, for sentimental reasons it will be good to stop back at Parliament. Parliament was my first stop when shopping for my first Prevost in 2008. I flew from New Orleans to Tampa and stopped at 3 dealerships looking for a Prevost. Mark Cascio at Parliament spent a lot of time with me educating and pointing out the pros and cons of various coaches and layouts. It was quite an education that is still very special to me.

I know you hear it all the time hear but this forum is so informative and everyone is so willing to help. I don’t jump in very often but I’m on the forum throughout the day every day learning and getting confused. But I love it and very grateful for what is truly a Prevost Community.

And I do have a permanent grin on my face since I got my Prevost…with slides, Nancy.

With today’s traffic the entire I-75 from I=4 up to I=10 was a parking lot. One 100 mile stretch took about 3 hours.

I learned a very valuable lesson on the roads the last three days.

Courtesy is gone. At one time if you wanted to make a lane change, put on the turn signal, and often someone would flash their lights and let you move over. Today it is a signal to indicate the person at the rear of the gap needed for the lane change is to accelerate and close the gap to prevent the lane change.

When the sign says a lane is closed, that is the lane you immediately should jump into and then speed (past the people who already merged) to the front of the line so you can force your way ahead of everyone else.

If traffic is heavy and you allow a gap for your stopping distance it is a signal to others to fill the gap as they constantly change from lane to lane to lane in an attempt to shave a second or two from their drive time. When the traffic begins to flow again, those who have bounced from lane to lane are usually behind you because no matter what lane they end up picking is the slowest.

The cops with their “move over a lane” rule contribute to traffic jams. They sit on the shoulder, lights blazing while they have no car pulled over, probably texting their girl friends, just so they can jam all moving traffic into one less lane and create a 3 mile back up.

I won’t even open a discussion of how drivers are clueless when it comes to merging fron an on ramp.

And to think at one time I used to like driving. Now I just want to shoot other drivers.

This past weekend it was not that I shared the road with inconsiderate morons, it was that the percentage of them seemed excessive.

I think we are all well aware of how poor drivers have gotten, especially and surprisingly some truckers. When Buddy and I brought back Phil and Joanne’s coach we both became aware of how many people are playing with their phones instead of driving, how many are unaware of those around them, and how some drivers are just mean.

This weekend it seemed like every other car was driven by an asshole.

You need to simply plan a truly relaxing trip to the Texas highways where everyone is courteous, friendly and a buddy… It helps if you know their double names like Jim Bob, Myrtle Ann, Billie Jo for the girls and Billy Joe for the guys… all drivers are concerned for the well being of Prevost coaches. It’s amazing to see… everyone waves as they go by but my window is fogged so I can’t really see who they are… but,I know they are friendly… they keep on waving until they get out of sight…

We have a rule here, when a coach signals a desired lane change, you can immediately see the response… to hurry things along to help, all in the desired lane accelerate to warp speed… very thoughful of them… at least they go by faster.

I do sympathize with the I-75 traffic issues… it was everywhere… On Satruday, we drove the 550 miles from Orange Beach, Al to Houston. The I-10 corridor was closed at the Atchafalaya Basin for seven hours… we missed the wreck by noting the side highway emergency sign at Baton Rouge as it initially ignited. The traffic backed up 12 miles to Baton Rouge and then there was a wreck on the top of the Baton Rouge bridge that backed up traffic from therte well East of Baton Rouge.. for over twenty miles…. We had exited immediately and went North 15 miles to HWY 190 and followed it to Lake Charles. From Lake Charles to Houston, we only saw 5 trucks on our side of the highway West bound… They obviously shut down at the basin…

I have calmed down a lot now that I am home. I did errands today on the local city streets, stayed completely off the interstate and never once felt compelled to utter a nasty word or use my finger for a signal to someone.

Tomorrow we are having lunch with some PC friends and again will avoid the interstate so I again anticipate a pleasant drive. I am no longer thinking about doing things that would be viewed as felonious.

Anyone with a recommendation for coach parking at the Citrus Bowl or close by? Interesting the stadium is named Camping World Stadium but I cannot find on site parking. No surprise there.
