They lowered the hours down to 8 for the four drive axle air bags. They want 2.5 hours to install the four drive shocks and 1.5 for tag axle shocks.

So do the shocks HAVE to be removed to install the drive axle bags, if so then there should be no labor on those stock.

No, the shocks do NOT have to be removed to replace the air bags.

BUT, and a big but, is most of the work is done to replace the air bags, ie ,coach inside on the lift, etc. Changing the shocks do not take much additional time. This is a good example of what my previous post referred to as double dipping.

There is time included in the labor operation to include ticket writing, processing etc, moving the coach, lifting it, removing tires etc.

Hopefully smarter minds will prevail if enough folks go up the ladder as Jon suggests.

Prevost is a small piece of the Volvo Group, so it may not get the attention we think it should.

At the very least on an XLII the front drive axle shock should be removed, and the only reason the rear drive axle shock doesn’t have to is because it is easier to remove the rear drive axle air bag from under the coach instead of from the outside so the shock is not in the way.
