WOW! I never thought I would see the day when that happened….

Better call Jeff and have Johnny make up the dash holder for it . He did one for Phil’s 2006. It looked really nice.

Nice that he entered the 21st century!

I predict that Tom’s next coach will have slides…and soon too.

I’am on the Pressure Pro short list. After learning Jeff has designed a good looking mounting for the display i’am going that direction.

There is a ETLC trip in my future.

Anyone have pictures of this limited edition Pressure Pro display holder?

Hold on boys and girls. I am not yet operational so I still have no opinion regarding what I have gotten myself into. I never anticipated all it takes to get a system installed, but as of now I have the display mounted and powered up. Today I am getting the valve stems turned so I can install the sensors. I have prototypes of a valve stem extension support so I can get at all sensors without the use of tools. All of the tire related work is yet to be done and I am hoping I haven’t overlooked something.

I have yet to mount the rear antenna which should be easy, and I will then program everything which is probably easy but I am going to find out.

The GPS and Pulse display are mounted on the trim covering the LH windshield post. Not a great photo, but it does show how it is in my scan from the windshield and the LH mirror so my peripheral vision is going to detect an alert. Below the Pulse is my camera that is mounted to the windshield.

This photo was taken before I made the wires a little neater and before I mounted the front antenna.

This is the install that Jeff did for us.

Take pictures of your valve extension supports. I thought the jury concluded valve extensions were an unacceptable risk so I am curious what has changed!

I have struggled with the decision to use the Pressure Pro system which is installed on my coach versus removing same and have double seal valve caps installed and manually monitoring air pressure. Don’t get me wrong I see the advantages of pressure pro but when I was travelling across the states some of the sensors were not tight on the stems and I lost air along the way until I tightened the sensors….my bad! I read Jons earlier posts on this subject and wonder what changed his mind. I assume the risks of using the pressure pro system due to possible air loss and improper seal at the valve ends is very low….and it is up to the operator to check the sensors are on tight as part of the pre trip inspection.

I’m not so sure valve extension being much of a risk. We’ve used them for 16 years and never had a problem.

Jon, why turn your valve stems on the outside duals? I just reached between the two tires and put it on. Did it three years ago, no issues. Best thing out there for piece of mind. you will love them. I bet you will check the pressures every hour (or less)

Here are the boring details for my valve stem extension supports to date. This is a work in process.

I just got back from having shorter stems and repositioned stems on the outer drive axles. They now point at the wheel such that I can easily put air in the tires and add or remove sensors. I did not plow new ground because every one I have looked at has done this with Pressure Pro sensors. Bill, I am not able to reach around the 315 tires to access the sensor on a valve stem pointed inwards.

The inner wheels now have valve stem extensions, something I am not yet 100% sold on. I have seen so many issues with worn extensions, leaky extension and heard of valve stem failures I am taking baby steps on this one.

My support for the vaLve stem is located just like the rubber Alcoa grommets, but to prevent flexing and fatigue at the bend in the valve stem at the wheel my supports are made from a 1 1/2″ wooden dowel cut to about 3/4: length.

I’ll pause here to allow all you guys to get done laughing.

I made about 8 wooden supports, with the holes for the valve stem ranging from centered to off center by varying amounts. As anticipated my valve stem extensions do not pass throught the outer wheel in the center so I have used a couple where the hole is eccentric. It supports the extension but it does not put any forces on it. That is what is going to be on the coach for the trip to Lakeland coming up. If it proves out I am going to make duplicates out of a reasonably stiff rubber so the valve stem extensions c annot flex while the wheels are rotated.

This project is a work in process so I have new stuff to learn and try out.

As to the unmentioned smart aleck that is questioning my type of phone and pad……….don’t hold your breath.. I spent today with my flip phone secured to my pants pocket and not once did I even consider turning it on. I think before I would consider a different phone it would make a lot of sense to begin using one.

An unrelated comment………I took the coach to a commercial tire shop to have the valve stems replaced with much shorter ones and ot have them reoriented and when I was asked the tire pressures I carry (85 PSI in the drives) I was getting looks like I was brain dead. But I also know the tire changer just took the 1″ impact and rammed the lug nuts home, with no consideration given to torque values. I have some checking to do this weeked to make sure the lug nuts and tire pressures are correct.

    Tom,

Thanks for starting this post. It explains the cold front that came through last week, about the same day Jon’s Pressure Pro was delivered. I do believe that Hell had a few snow flurries, but I do not believe it has frozen over since Nancy has not received the new bus with slides. Now, THAT is when Hell will freeze over!

Jon, if you are concerned about the inner dual tire valve stem extensions leaking, I think a company called Duallyvalve makes a dually kit for 22.5″ rims. The kit includes the valves with curved stems for the two outers and either a 7″ or 9″ long stem valve for the inners. They come in brass or copper. The stabilizer rubber grommets may be a bit oversized for the hole in our Alcoas tho. It’s a bit pricy also…
