The coach only had 1 inverter (Trace) originally. So I’m pretty sure that’s why he replaced it with only one.

I like the idea of going with fewer 12 volt batteries, and if I needed to add a second inverter down the road, I could add more batteries then.

Do you like AGM batteries better the Lithium Ion?

I’m in the Bay area Ca. Do you work out this way?

Luc………Here is free advice worth every penny you will pay for it.

Replace the batteries with AGM, voltage and number of am hours your choice. Re-cable them as necessary if necessary and for the time being end your concerns about a second inverter until you have some experience with the coach under your belt.

When you have used it for a while and know your needs then revisit the inverter question.

You may find there are other more important ways to make the coach more suitable to your needs and right now you lack the depth of knowledge about the big picture to prioritize your needs.

Lithium batteries as replacements will certainly be an improvement, but they are not going to be drop in replacements. They require a lot of consideration to deal with multiple differences and limits.

Thanks for the good advice. Yes I would like to update and improve the battery system, without re-inventing the wheel, until I know more about my needs.

What do you think about going with 12 volt vs 6 volt batteries?

Is there a brand/type of battery you would recommend?

I’ll make this real simple using an assumption. I assume your existing batteries while six volt are wired in series so you are set up with a 12V system.

Stick with 12V batteries.

Do not waste your time or money thinking you can save a few bucks on batteries. Contact Tom (Truk) who sells Lifeline. They are by far the batteries most of us use because of their performance. Give him the information he needs and he will set you up with the batteries that in the end, if taken care of are going to give you the biggest bang for your buck.

Luc, I have had three sets of LifeLine batteries purchased through Tom (truk).

In my first coach a 99 CC they were seven years old before I replaced them.

In my opinion, there is no other battery on the market to consider.

You will hear all kinds of stories on how great other brands are but ignore them.

Never would I have wet cell batteries in a motor home. Replace them as soon as it convenient to you.

Don’t really prefer one over the other in this situation, WhenLithiumsfirst enteredthe scene they were built with odd footprints and were hard to find “drop in” replacement sizes. They behave a bit differently as well so be sure to cover the difference with a Battery guy. I’m sure there has been changes since I last played with them.

Sounds like someone that “HAD” sell two of his most prized possession and has to grow his own veggies in his home garden really could use some dues money, I will send a personal pleading sympathetic email to the Great Battery Guru to show some sympathy after all he is still working and raking in the big bucks.

I can use all the help I can get. Last night I had a salad for dinner and for the first time this season it was 100% food I was forced to grow, or starve.

Truk shows no sign of relenting. I’m forced to sell assets to pay bills. I’m telling you guys while he boasts about only having to spend money on wipers for his GOAT, I am spending whatever time I am not weeding, hoeing, planting, or picking trying to fix all the stuff on my coach. I’m broke, wore out, starving, and I don’t even get a commission when I do his battery selling for him.
