Kent,
A purchase of a coach is a big deal. It sounds as if you are only going to look at one or two that get your interest and I would urge you to spend some time looking at as many as possible, and learning how to work through the razzle-dazzle and get to the true condition of the coach.
With enough tire dressing and wax even a dog can be made presentable and the challenge for you is going to be to confirm your dream coach will not become a nightmare that can drain your wallet.
Buying a coach with a lot of issues can be a really nasty surprise, or it can be the buy of the century if the defects and needs are known, the price reflects its true condition and the budget is able to cover the costs and keep some money in your pocket. Buying a well maintained coach that needs nothing is the other end of the spectrum.
Unless you are experienced you don’t know what you don’t know (every single one of us was in that position) and you should proceed with extreme caution and get help.

Thanks Jon! Understand what you are saying for sure. I have been eyeing a few that have full documentation and yes I think that would be the way to go. I’ve had probably ten RV’s and one diesel pusher, and I know they do not compare to or are even close to the same scale as a Prevost. I figure if I’m spending that kind of money on a blue collar income, I’m going to get the best! No more stick coaches for me! Your advice and concern is taken seriously and has helped a lot in my search. Thanks for all your time. Kent

Kent,
Not to distant from your location are a couple of very experienced PC members. They have owned a number of Prevost coaches and if you are looking at coaches not to distant from your location they might be willing to offer some assistance. I will let them express their willingness.
In the past a lot of us have been contacted by others who are looking at coaches, and asked to do a very superficial preliminary look at a nearby coach. I have done that several times, and have both recommended coaches or been critical of coaches. I expect the buyer to have the ultimate responsibility, but the role I play is to help them decide if it is worth the cost to go look at a coach.

Hi Kent
I believe Jon is referring to Chris and me. We are on our third Marathon, and fifth bus. Kent, we are about 75 minutes south of you. Whatcha looking at?
-
Here’s my number call anytime 1-307-331-5801 hour and a half north of you
-
Kent,
You may also consider a bus by one of our PC members named Al, if he hasn’t sold it yet. It’s a 2000 H-3 Marathon. Excellent bus…

There are some coaches a lot of us know that are so well maintained that no inspection is needed except to confirm what is already known.
Al’s coach is one of them. Another just recently sold. They don’t last long on the market.

Thanks Peter! I will keep your number for sure! Sorry about the late response, back at work for eight days on!

Hello Mr. Jim! Just a non slide 96′ to 00′ Xl. I would be the only one living in it for now. It’s all a timing thing at this point on whether to buy first then sell the house or vice versa? I will be buying a house in Texas for the wife and kid and traveling back and forth once a month. Long story but has to do with my daughters extensive traveling due to national competive cheer and wanting to go to TCU for college. I’ll live here and finish working. Would love to meet you guys one day! Thanks for the offer, that’s super cool of you!
-
Thanks to ALL of you who have offered advice, phone numbers, time, expertise, and knowledge! You don’t know what it means to me and my family! I will look at PC members coaches also. Thanks so much everybody! This is a super cool community and we hope to meet each and every one of you someday on the road! Thank you!
