Bill may be correct about the lack of a mechanical stop because my memory sucks. If I did not have one I may have created one after learning one owner lost a radiator because his belts came off or failed. It is a belts and suspenders thing with me. I know stuff will fail, so the pessimist in me tries to figure a way to work around the failure or prevent the failure from creating a bigger problem.

Yes Jon he likes your idea of the bolts to adjust belt, get rid of air bags. Jon looked for your old post on mini air bags, can’t find it, Do you have pictures of what you did?? I will share with Craig

Jon did an “article” and there is a link at the top of the PC home page for “articles”.
Here’s the link, you must be logged on to access it

This is a good time to mention this. Prevost does not support or agree with my elimination of the air bellows.
If you choose to do this to your coach that is entirely up to you.
Since I made this modification more than about a year ago I have paid close attention and so far I detect not unusual belt wear, in fact I cannot see any wear, I haven’t seen any change in belt tension (I have a device to measure tension) and it seems OK. But the bellows will absorb shock and not the belts which is the objection as I understand it.
My belt tensioners will not limit travel and all areas tightened by the jack screws have some mechanical means of limiting travel if a belt fails

I think the only reason for the mini air bags so the driver can change belts quickly?

I would like to Thank Art for posting my issue for me. I had Internet trouble while in Florida. Here are a few pictures of the clutch cooling hub hitting the cross brace on the radiator. I have not figured out why yet. I am pretty sure this problem existed before I purchased th coach.
