Al,
Thanks for sharing all of the pictures. If the Emerald coaches are in Indio, I’ll get to see them maybe next week.
I was wondering why the Prevost converters put such a large piece of material on the center bar of the windshield. Have any of you noticed that it can block from seeing things?
The metal is so thin on the outside but the converters (it appears to me) put a 4 inch piece of material to cover the inside bar. Why cover it at all?

The pictured coaches seem to use roller windshield blinds like those on my bus. The material on the post between the windshields provides an overlap at the edge of the window blind, so that light leak is minimized. On my bus there is also a conduit there to route antenna wires from the dash to the roof.

“All X’s are on the entertainer platform.” We heard this at the All Prevost Show in Tampa in 2013. I wondered if Prevost would actually go forward with that strategy.
“Rear axle pushed back about 18 inches thus enlarging the bays and claimed smoother ride. Emerald bus weight is 49000 lbs without personal gear, ” What does that do to the center of gravity and front axle weight? Doesn’t that move backward of the rear axle move weight onto the front axle? What happens to the turning radius? Its bigger … right?
“closets containing floor to ceiling audio gear are now moved to an outside double enclosed lower bay.” With today’s more advanced audio gear, are they still putting voluminous audio gear in the coaches?

X-3 is all you can get new.
Actually I believe its closer to 12 inches back but I didn’t look that up.
As far as turning radius yes it takes a little bigger turn but with the IFS you wouldn’t really notice the difference anyway and as good as the X-3 rides I wouldn’t care if it took 40 acres to turn it around. The weight issues are insignificant, Entertainers have been doing it for years and converters are using lighter weight products.
As far as the A/V systems Al asked a good question about heat in the basement affecting equipment. They have fans but who knows? Inside they used quality sound bars instead of overhead speakers and that was good with me.
I don’t know if I answered everything but I can’t remember.
