Even if the numbers a skewed for political reasons, my reality is that if the true death rate is only 1/10 of 1 percent and my wife, brother or sister dies of CV-19 the numbers on paper would not mean a damn thing!
I suspect most of us are in that high risk category and I am doing everything possible to socially distance despite the fact that I have multiple daily customer contacts. Gloves, masks, hand sanitizer and bleach are a regular part of my daily routine.

I tried to stay away from coming down on either side of this issue and just share info from a source that was about as neutral as I could find especially with many of us being in the high risk group.
I agree with most of what has been said. We can’t totally isolate for 6 months or there will be little to come back to. We can’t just open everything tomorrow or our healthcare system will be overwhelmed and the death toll will go way up. We can’t dismiss this as a hoax and we can’t just go nuts either. I see our biggest problem as a failure of our governmental system at all levels by all sides. I have often felt that the best thing would be a natural disaster that wipes out all the elected officials in DC so we could start over without all the BS!
My best recommendation and what I personally have done is I have turned off FOX, CNN, AND MSNBC. Stopped reading most all public media because most of it seems to have an agenda one way or the other. I am skeptical of even some of the medical literature because it is either sponsored by big pharma or published to make the researchers famous.
Hopefully, although it’s very rare today, good old measured common sense will prevail and we can intelligently deal with all this. No one group has all the answers and much is just unknown.
BTW we all do appreciate Jon’s isolation from the rest of us! LOL
Stay safe and healthy and god I hope we all are on the road again soon!

Doctor Yetter,
I was just reading your message which is good info, then I came to this…..
BTW we all do appreciate Jon’s isolation from the rest of us! LOL

The problem I see with your response is that the majority of our US citizens have lost all sense of common sense!
It’s now all about ME and to hell with the rest of you folks. Just look at the beaches that remained open and are now being re-opened. Look at the protesters mobbing city halls who were all bunched up just inches apart. You simply can’t fix stupid and when the Government re-opens the Country there is going to be a huge swell of infection and lots and lots of folks are going to die. Maybe that’s the Big Guys plan but I am not ready to meet my maker and will do everything in my power to keep myself “socially isolated” for as long as possible.

Haha 😂 Dan you are correct sir. I’m not part of the “Social Distancing / Stay at Home” or “Mask Wearing” movements.

I’m with you Bill , well to be honest I have been practicing social distancing for years now . I also don’t need any more money to live and I dont eat out much . But how about the guy who lives week to week and he is waiting for 1,200 dollars . I guess I will just respect both sides and let our leaders sort this out and allow History to determine who was making the correct decision .
So Healthy folks who need money go to work, and Old folks like myself stay home Thats my position on this subject .

When the second Covid 19 wave hits in conjunction with flu season youll wish you practice social distancing and mask wearing, and stay at home.
-
I don’t need (or want) no stinking slides! I don’t have to social distance from my bride and no one else is allowed inside. I work everyday and practice social distancing as best as possible. Gloves and face masks are routine.
Next Monday CO is going to allow offices to re-open but I am hopeful we will only allow 1 tenant at a time allowed in the office and face masks will be required. We keep a bucket of bleach water at hand and wipe everything after each visit.

Colorado has past experience with social distancing and mask wearing et al. In 1918, the city of Denver followed all the protocols for a pandemic as we are now. After five weeks of lockdown, movie theaters, and others whined to city leaders the city should open up
Mayor William Fitzrandolph Mills lifted the lockdown on Armistice Day. Whar better time than to celebrate ending of WW One.
Ensuing relaxation resulted of measures like social distancing, Denver had a SPIKE in Spanish Flu infections resulting in more death l History is destined to repeat itself. Georgia, Florida and others relaxing or ending lockdown restrictions WILL see SPIKES in infections rates. Its a proven fact from history.
I hate preaching, but anyone who doesnt take this Covid 19 extremely serious, is opening themselves up to much grief in their future. But we can only beat our heads against a wall so long, because people will selfishly do as they want with no regard for others. The longer strict actions areNot followed, the longer our lives will be stifled. Wash hands, Stay Masked, Wear Gloves, and give a six foot berth to your neighbours.

Just because I have a different opinion than you doesn’t make me selfish with no regard for others (as you stated). Not sharing your beliefs on this Panicdemic doesn’t make me wrong. Or you either.
Not that it matters, there are plenty/many that don’t agree with you – most I know seem to be a lot less vocal than myself.
Carry on.

Since I am not aware of most posting being public health officials or policy makers I would urge strongly we avoid debating this topic.
Everything we can possibly need to know right now is to observe the simple rules Co bus posted. Wash your hands, wear a mask, stay 6 feet away, remain isolated to the extent possible. Before, during or after those seem to be the points most agree on. Lets not start in with opinions again.
