Cold outside
Very cold here today, -20 in bus shop no heat in shop but its out of wind , water bay 60 degrees , inside coach 60 degrees , bay heat on electric and aqua hot heat exchanger , set for 60 degrees in water bay , inside aqua hot set for 55 degrees electric hot water heater on and diesel, cube heater set at 60 degrees inside coach , diesel never turns on but in the event of power outage the coach will be safe the diesel will take over . We have aux gen for ranch just in case power goes out but just in case it does not start the diesel aqua hot will take over , I do not have to worry about the exhaust I have exhaust hoses on the aqua hot to out side and on the bus gen .. Bus is pluged in to 50 amp power all the time everything on, and water in tank I turn tap on in bathroom every day until I feel hot water , if you want to know what we do in the cold when I store the coach. Shop is 75 wide by 175 long …..

Whoa Peter -20. It’s 39 here outside Muldoon Tx. bout 100 miles from Gulf Of Mexico as the crow flys. Gonna get down to 25 they say tonight. Mines plugged in inside my barn also. Just picked up a newborn calf and hustled her into pen with Momma. Don’t know how you folks make it up north. Get down to 20 F. here and I would lock up! Stay safe!

Wish I was down there calving is a lot nicer in that weather , we make it by dressing warm and chasing wife around house after five , if I was down there we could have some fun with the bus come visit anytime

dropped 20 degree in 1 hr 41F to 21F high tomorrow -2F SW Ind on Ohio River Global Warming! Just keep safe where ever you are..!!! Luvurbus is LOL… It is home and Family is where home is. Friends in Ocola said 26F tonight high in 40’s tomorrow… Never tried the mini split below 5F will try them tomorrow for the heck of it—I don’t plan on being in the bus needing them in that temp..Besides I have elect heat as back up and coach heat also.. That’s funny. You need to meet my wife’s horse. Anything below 35 degree’s and he’s thinking the barn is a comfortable place to sleep. And at over 17 hands, him sacking out in a 12×12 box isn’t an easy thing. I am sure if it ends up snowing tonight, he will be wanting to come in the house by tomorrow morning!

Peter, Have you polled those animals and asked if they didn;t mind that frigid tundra. I betcha they would head for the bus barn, even without heat in there. That last boy needs a sweater or something.

Now that funny 150 head of horses and beef cows and they stay outside all the time but I bet my wife brings milks cows 2 of them in the barn and starts the wood stove so it’s 75 degrees in there and sleeps with them too , soo much for snuggling with her tonight

My neighbor bought a couple cattle with the intention of filling his freezer. His wife named one of them… He now has a good ten cattle and an empty freezer. I think his wife’s affection of the cows has rubbed off on him, even though he’s a “good old georgia boy”.
He wanted me to go half on a cow early on with the intentions of splitting it after it goes to the butcher. Looking back on it, thinking that would have been a really bad investment…

Everybody make it though the night? I know it’s frigid up north and Dang it’s about 19 F outside here and I’m freezing and just don’t know how you handle it. Hope you boys ain’t froze to the ground.

I may be wrong but I think your life would be a whole lot easier if you folks moved south,–oh say 1500 hundred miles or so. It sure would be a lot warmer ! Yup you folks should come to florida with us older but smarter folks. Hell you can even bring your pet cows . We got tons of them here.

It will be 17 degrees tomorrow am in South Louisiana (5 miles from the Gulf of Mexico) so i need to think about Florida!!! When it get’s this cold here they usually call out the National Guard as a state of emergency!!! Has not been this cold here in 15 years….. but then again, it is all to blame on “global warming.”

I am in West Plains, Missouri this week and it is super cold today. Wind is blowing right down the passenger side of my coach where I have six water lines, shower, vanity sink and kitchen sink. All frozen. I have electric heat in the plumbing bay, four toekick heaters inside and one of my roof units running with heat strips. I have three more roof units but no electricity to spare.
I am a little handicapped because I am dealing with a coolant leak in the valve going to my circulation pumps on the AquaHot. The pump for the engine coolant is fine so I can warm that when I am ready to crank but can not run the interior heat. We sure miss that today.
