I actually replaced my front bags on my IRS XLV without removing the front wheels…but I’m sure it would have been easier with them removed.

As far as I know the front wheels on an H3 or XLII can remain on. But the chassis has to be in the full up position and the wheels turned out on the side being changed.

I’ll repeat: Do not even start to do this project unless the chassis is fully supported as shown in the Prevost manual for the coach. If in doubt, don’t!

had coach in full up travel and got air bag loose but could not get it out around upper ball joint a arms. Had jack stands under coach at support spots. Even had air ban side ways but could not slide out between air bag mount and upper a arms. Thanks for all your help Jim

Yes definitely looks like a tight fit. Pls keep us posted if your where able to remove it and how thanks.

Nothing has to be disassembled by the air bag. It will come out.

Tackled the rear air bags on my own but had Prevost Winter Garden do the fronts, they said they didn’t have to brake the upper A arms loose. They wouldn’t let me watch (had to stay in the customer lounge).

I am considering driving to JAX to get all of my air bags replaced. I do not have the height in my coach garage to raise the coach to do this, and until I get much improved lighting to even see what I am doing it could be dangerous.

Anyone used Prevost JAX for this work?

I just had all bags (front, drive, tag) on my coach replaced at East Tennessee Luxury Coach. Jeff did a great job and didn’t take long. Whoever does the work, make sure they replace the air fittings and use compression type when they change bags. Apparently I had some leaks…..

That’s just the cost of ownership. Nothing new or special.

You just need to find folks other than Prevost to do your work. It will save at least 50%.

I am a nuts and bolts guy. I grew up working farms and feel like I have never stopped working. The US Army was a great break between University academics and it ran its course when I went back to college, grad school and law school.

I would absolutely love to get the coach up on stands and do as much as I could possibly get done. I have done shocks on cars, and about to on the F-150, but I do not have the garage height to get the coach up to do the airbags. It is something I would love to do so I can get underside to get far more knowledgeable that I am now. Shocks and brakes, too. Grease and dirt do not bother me one bit. I have spent enough time working farms that it would be a welcome break from the current professional like.
