I have disassembled all the removeable parts on my tow bars for the express purpose of seeing if there was any needed repairs due to wear.

So far so good and with the exception of replacing the “pin” that was worn to the point the tow bar would not lock in the extended position I haven’t seen any wear that needed replacement. The tow bars are robust.

I’m pretty sure driving in excess or 62.5 MPH and using a cell phone while driving might damage tow bars. That’s just a guess.

The paperwork that came with my bar doesn’t say anything about the risk of texting while driving, so may be we’re grandfathered in on that.

Just a hunch………it should offer warnings. Mine warns me about everything including not to use the top step on a ladder.

I am guessing but if the bus rear ends someone while texting the tow bar might get damaged as a result of the sudden stop. I think mine says not to drive above 62.5 MPH.

After reading the beginning of this thread and I have used my Blue Ox since 1997 I decided to take to have it serviced here at Quartzsite. The told me no luck they stopped making parts for a tow bar that old 2 generation ago of bars, but would give me $150 in trade for a new one. Talked to Roadmaster and they said they will repair any year, so I walked a way with a new NightHawk.
