True but the bypass only works as the gray water is produced. It does not allow for the gray water to held And later be eliminated. I have been told that some people release their gray tanks at night. Someone I know even has a button in the drivers area which opens a passenger side dump valve for the gray. He pulls off at a deserted exit, drops his gray in less than two minutes, and goes on down the highway allowing his wife to wash a load or two of clothes that she would not have been able to do with a gray water saturated single tank.
Glad to hear a single tank works for you but it would be a deal killer for me.

Here is my 2 cents worth having owned a Vantare with HWH slides and OTR and a Liberty with OTR and Prevost slides…. both being H3-45s.
The 1998 Vantare is a great conversion everything we needed to enjoy what we like to do… the HWH slides were great loved the ease in changing out the slide seals. Loved the OTR.
The 2005 Liberty is an awesome coach too… love the cosmetic look of the Prevost slides when in and when extended a big plus there over the Vantare…Love the OTR… can’t imagine having a coach without it… never had a Prevost without it so I can’t judge that… hardly ever hear of OTR problems though so that is a good thing… I am not a fan of roof airs due to the noise compared to the cruisairs….. just another very personal opinion.
The interior finish on a Liberty leaves nothing to your imagination… it is top quality… I used to think it was just surface looks but it is in fact high quality… I love it… and now for the bays… the chrome… brass and everything is finished out to perfection… and I get that great feeling everytime I open my bay doors for something !!
Having one holding tank is a huge plus for us… I use the grey water bi-pass often and we have never had a problem with having a full tank like we did in the Vantare… one tank would be full and the other almost empty… very annoying to me unless you are somewhere with full hookups… so most definitely “to each his own”.
I think when a person walks into a coach and it feels good then it probably is !!

A lot of reading for a 1 day old post. What I can see from reading all of them is everyone defends what they have. Including myself, which is human nature. So for everyone looking to take the prevost plunge, jump on in there are none better. As far as which conversion, if it feels good go for it.

I’m not defending what we have…. I’m just saying we bought what we liked after looking at two converters…. We first looked at Marathon which is a beautiful conversion. We drove the Marathon and then we looked at Liberty. The Liberty spoke to us. There are many things that we like about it as we were wanting a ‘new’ build.
Marathon would not put in a macerator or a passenger monitor. Liberty installs both. Marathons half bath was small compared to the Liberty on the unit that we viewed. Also, I like one holding tank.
Another item that I liked was the Lithium Ion technology. Marathon was not into it but would do it if we wanted. Liberty had been installing it for at least 3 years. I’m certainly not dogging Marathon’s as they are very nice units. Liberty coaches jumped to the top of the list on what we wanted in a conversion.
Those things may not be important to some as when you are looking at a used model. But, when you are building a new unit, you want certain things.

I like having two tanks. Our tanks are approximately the same size, and usually we end up dumping the black tank every other time we dump the grey tank. As far a OTR goes, I expect the aux AC (Roof AC or CruiseAirs) to be able to handle the AC load any time we are camping or driving, like our present coach does. We certainly do not expect less AC capability than our current coach. OTR is OK, but it is just as important to have adequate AC with the engine off.

Mark, I certainly did not take from your post that you were dogging Marathon’s. I know you are not that type of a person at all. But again my advice for 1st time Prevost buyers, just as yourself, if it feels good go for it.

A good example of using our grey water by pass would be when we stay at Camping on the Gulf in Destin…where we stay on the “front row beach” for 10 days every summer sometimes twice… the front row beach has 50amp hookups, water and cable and a “honey wagon” service you have to book a day ahead…. we are actually parked on a gravel spot covered in sand… it’s very firm, hard and level.
These trips are always with our daughter and grand daughter… we all love the beach and this is our special event every summer.You can only imagine how much water is used at the beach… we keep a big pail of water at the door and towells on the steps and also use the outside shower to rinse off in between showers… pretty much keep the sand out of the coach and vacuum sometimes twice a day.
When we shower we use the grey water by pass and no one seems to notice also use it with the washing machine that we use every night for towells etc often 2 loads…. this way we use the honey wagon every 3 days instead of every day… reason being is I won’t let those guys mess with our bus… we have to be there and they come when they feel like it and won’t give you a specific time… we don’t want to hang around waiting everyday.
If they know we do that…they have never said anything…. and it works well for us.
There are a few other times we have done it too but only when we don’t have a sewer hookup available. It’s really great for us.
The shower water and washing machine water never has any odor or we couldn’t do it…. we do try to be discreet and respectful of neighbors… I am a night owl and do the laundry and my shower when the rest of the world is sleeping…. would never do it if folks were sitting around outside.

Good to hear from you Diane and sorry to hear that Larry is (on) trial and you guys can’t make the party/seminar in Vonore. Also, glad to know that you like the transition from your Vantare to the Liberty, as we will probably be doing the same in the future. In fact if you ever decide to part with yours for any reason, don’t lose our number.

We do the same thing each year at my brother in laws, this year we were there a month. We keep the gray water valve open, hook a garden hose to it and the grass is happy getting water.
Just wanted to point out the Marathon has the same capabilities.:)

We’ve used the grey water bypass a number of times. I have to look at the where it comes out under the coach to see if a garden hose will fit on it as we’ve always let it drop under the coach and have never seen it run on the ground. One time we were in a rest area overnight and it was raining really hard the entire time we were there, so I let the grey water bypass. The heavy rain moved the grey water quickly to the storm drain.
When we parked at Daytona International Speedway for the 24 Hour race there was a statement on the M/H Parking Permit that said something to the effect that we were prohibited from “releasing” any liquid from the coach. Didn’t menion grey water per se, but I think that is what they meant.

One desirable feature for me is no fussy one size does all remote. We have a remote control device that supposed to DO ALL. It does its job turning everything off. But try to turn on the TV. Argh!!!!
