Several years back, we had a gathering in Arkansas and Dan Hilger, Jeff Pettit and I were talking and we heard something like a gun shot. We looked around and nothing, so kept talking. As Jeff was walking back to his coach (XLII), the trapezoid window was crazed like the rear window of a car in hot weather. Broken in a million small pieces. Just the outer pane. Still intack, just shattered. Inner pane OK. Nothing around that might have broken it. Possible that the dark tint caused a large heat build up and kaboom! Lots of Blue Tape secured it for travel.

Good to hear from you buddy. Barely had the coach a month and can’t believe all the s..t I’ve had to deal with so far. Going to install a trickle charger to deal with the phantom draw down on the chassis batteries like I saw someone else did on a previous thread. Gave me some good ideas.

Had an 2001 where the same drivers side trapezoid window slid down abt 4 inches while parked. Replaced it and no signs of failure .

Hey Bill and Ralf,

Unfortunately I’m not in Florida I’m back in Oregon. Got a quote from Prevost for $3750 to replace that window. God only knows what the paint will cost at Marathon. Remember the BB King tune “The Thrill Is Gone”? Yeah it’s like that.
