Marathon TV Lift
Just had the TV’s in the bus replaced at Marathon. Got the bus back in the barn and can’t get the salon TV lift to drop. I spoke to Marathon and they said there was a switch in the grill to release the lock. I have tried to drop the TV with the switch in both positions. I have also tried holding the drop down button with the switch in both positions and pushing up on the box in which the TV is located. Nothing seems to work. I will give Marathon a call on Monday to see what the next step to try should be. Has anyone experienced this issue and if so what was the solution? I have included a couple of pictures to show where the lock switch is located. This on on an 08 XLII.

If you hold the plunger down where you show that picture and it doesnt work you lost the ground.

Bernie,
When I push and hold the button for the TV lift to go down, I can hear the switch click a couple of times but no joy. I will have to try to find the ground and check it.

Hey Loc, Hold the button down as you move it to the left while whistling the opening stanza of Sweet Georgia Brown. It may not help the lift go down but it will tell your wife what she’s suspected for years.

Mine is a few years older than your’s, but I have a pull cable that releases the latch. Maybe these photo’s will help you.

He has an electric actuater that moves a pin on each side of the TV.

Why does Harry who probably had the least experience with a Prevost always has to make a silly joke when our fellow Prevost owners are trying to solve a real problem. Sorry, Harry but it’s annoying and tiring.

You’re right about that Tom and I should have thought it. A friend of mine has a cruiser and his TV was set up just that way.

Sorry Tom, I could have been more clear. A friend of mine has a 60 some foot cabin cruiser and installed two flat screen TV’s on lifts. His configuration with the pull cable release is similar to the picture you posted.

I spoke to Bernie over the weekend and he had a fix that I didn’t get a chance to try. I spoke to Marathon today. They said there is an emergency override behind the panel above the driver’s seat. You gain access to the override by taking the speaker out. They also said the lift motor may have come unplugged. The plug is also behind the panel over the driver’s seat. I will try Bernie’s fix followed by Marathon’s suggestions this weekend if I break the Jeep early.
