  • Blue Beacon Truck Washes

Posted by Bill on December 12, 2012 at 12:20 am

    Greetings,

Just about home from my maiden voyage from ABQ… hit the snow packed roads outside ABQ 🙁 so the bus is a mess…

I was considering running it through blue beacon wash in Cuba, MO…. Anyone here used blue beacon before?

Also, how about them using citrushine? Anyone used that before?

    Protects Your Investment
Blue Beacon uses only warm, soapy water for all recreational vehicle washing. When you include regular washing in your maintenance program, you not only reduce corrosion, you’re adding value to your RV and Motorcoach equipment at trade-in-time. To protect your paint from fading and give it a high gloss shine, try our new WeatherShield™ or RainX® Complete paint protectants.

(Upon customer request only, we will use our exclusive citrushine™ product, which is a mild citric acid solution; safe for all paint, aluminum and chrome finishes. We can also use our exclusive brightener product on your aluminum wheels, but again we do so only at customer request.)

I visted a Blue Beacon in Vegas and was impressed with how clean their touchless washing was. That one time has been my only experience with a commercial truck wash.

Washing and drying a bus by hand with a step ladder builds character.

Never had much luck with commercial washes…I think they came by the name “Streakin Beacon ” honestly…

Do it yourself Bill, the Truck Washes will cause you pain with acid, high pressure washers, grease and oil soaked brushes. Take it over to KC, Al probably has a heated bay for you.

If you must go, have a serious discussion of what you want and expect! Go into the room with them and follow them around.

    DO NOT PERMIT ACID WASH!

it will come out dirtier than when it when in!! Look in the yellow pages for a moblie detailer that will come out to wash it. How are you liking your H ? I just got mine and love the fact I don’t have to polish all the stainless anymore!!!

    Guys,

Thanks for the advise… I washed it myself… didn’t take that long and it looks amazing… Loving the H so far only had it 3 days but it was a blast running it home… I could have done without the snow… it drives like a dream

Only issue so far is the outside water line to the bay icemaker either froze and broke before I picked it up came lose… opened the second bay and a fair amount of water came out… I turned off the disconnect and will let it dry out and figure out what happened.

I have done Beacons many times and I did the “Rain” thing once ( don’t worth it). I now think the way to go is to use the guys that work in the RV parks. You get far more service for your money, plus it is not going right back out on the road. The best is to do it yourself.
