    Doc Jim,

Look into the FMCA Michelin tire program. I just tried to get a link but their site might be having problems or be down. I think the program was discussed on the threads on this site if you search.

As to batteries our own Tom who has an ad on this site is going to be a good place to start with Lifeline batteries. Many Prevost owners have bought batteries through Tom. He is down in FL picking up his latest coach a nice Liberty so he probably needs money anyway. All kidding aside he almost always has the best delivered price.

Last time I bought tires, I THINK I actually got a decent deal @ Prevost, Mira Loma. Also, there’s a Lifeline dealer in the LA area.

    Jim,

I just bought 4 new Michelins through FMCA and they were 5860 plus tax, you can’t beat that price for 315’s.

As for batteries, contact me for the PC discount…

Last year we shopped for new AGM batteries. Hands down the best price was from Tom.

Tom arranged all the shipping to installing location with fresh factory stock

FYI ….Installing new batteries should all be date coded the same and not over 6 months sitting on the dealers shelf.

There have been several horror stories on out of code, mixed dates and one battery dealer stock over a year old. That actually led to more issues then when the bus owner had the original batteries, all traced back to old batteries.

Anyone have any thoughts on the XZA2 Energy vs. the XZA1, I have always used the 1…..

    Thanks,

I *think* that they are supposed to give better fuel mileage and maybe better life. I am going by memory from the last time I talked to our tire vendor who we bought from for our company. Michelin used to have lots of info on their website relating to the different types. I have not looked there, but it may be a starting place to find out for sure.

The XZA-1 is all position and the XZA-2 is for steer. I have always bought the XZA-2’s for all positions.

XZA-1 Even-wearing all-position tire optimized for heavy axle loads in highway & limited regional service.

XZA-2 Fuel-efficient, all-position radial designed for long life in highway steer axle service.

This is Peter I have run all those tires plus the Xza – 3 in 275/80 22.5 on my peterbilt the best tires going got 100000 miles out of them. They have a wear bar on the edge of tire so there is no river wear in the tire tires with no wear bar get river wear in them did not have much luck with tires with no wear bar on them maybe I would get 35000 miles before river wear in them XZA s never had that problem I drive 100,000 miles a year.those wear all steer tires ran XDN 2 on the backs like having chains on good traction smooth riding long wear 87000 miles out of them could have got more

Sounds like time for an alignment. If you’re in the Orlando area stop at Josam’s; they simply the best. They are one of the few that can do all wheel alignments.
