Jon seems to think I am stalking him, this is simply NOT true, absolutely not happening. I do get around and I post quite a lot on my site, but never have I stalked anyone.

Bought a vacumn cleaner I didn’t need from a good looking honey at Sears one time, but I am sure that is not the same thing.

It has been awhile since I have posted over here so here goes. Yesterday at the beanery, I was telling a fiend of mine that I knew people who had buses with telephones inside their bus, he thought I was putting him on and because he is an Okie exclaimed …. NO WAY!. So I gave him Al’s number and told him the next time he could not sleep at night, regardless of what time it was, to give Al a call.

The I told my friend of a newspaper article I had read. This was an op-ed piece in the paper on CEO’s in Oklahoma. What stuck me as odd in the piece, instead of listing their accomplishments in life, they had a list of CEO’s and what “ring tones” they were using on their telephones.

    Huh? …. I mean …. Really?

Have we sunk this low on the food-chain. That we are now clearly recognized for our particular ringtone on a cellphone. That to me is kind of sad, just case you are wondering, my ringtone rings like a telephone. Nothing fancy or anything like that, just a plain old telephone sound.

Now there was a time when I actually desired my own personal ringer, and I even went on the net to download one. Most of the time, I kind of get tripped up and lost in the maze, and end up screwing it all up. I search and search, finally agree on what I think would be a truly cool ring tone. It is $3.99 and available to down load right now.

Carefully, I dive into the process.

“Sixteen dollars” later I have my ring tone, push the button on the phone, and approximately “half of what I wanted” plays for me. So much for the theme of The Magnificent Seven. Once again I find that I am, like Jon, a pair of brown shoes in a fast moving Tuxedo World.

Please let me allay your fears Jon. You are not being stalked, there is a perfectly logical explanation to this. You see Jon …This is not literally Boxcar. What you keep seeing appears to be his doppel-hanger, or his evil twin, or a Boxcar look-alike-hopeful, or simply some paunchy, red-faced, long past middle-aged _____ pot bellied fool, who has either the great misfortune or great good luck to look just like Boxcar (who incidentally, is just toooooo good looking for his height).

I would also venture to say that if you were to casually glance over your shoulder, you too would see — not now — wait until it’s cool — okay, now. See it? Another Boxcar clone-wanna-be.

Accept no substitutes Jon, always look for the real deal. There are a suspicious number of Boxcars wandering around this board and other boards, who knows, maybe our great country. If one were conspiratorially-inclined, one might even think that someone is growing a secret army of the rotund little *****.

    Why. To what end?

    Beats me.*

BTW Mr. Oklahoma, all of the 9 e-mails sent have been returned…..undeliverable.

Have you left Oklahoma for Missouri yet ?

Al I have no idea on the email link, are you using ldsrr91@gmail.com? That is currently the only one I am using, it is possible it could have been hacked or something. I do not have a filter on you and checked the spam folder, there is nothing there.

The post was made in jest, and if it has somehow offended you, please let me know and I will pull it down or at best, get Jon to do it. It was not my intention to slight you or send a message of ill will your way.

I don’t know what the reference to “leaving Oklahoma for Missouri” is about, sorry.

    Take care,

I don’t see any problem giving out Al’s phone number. I give Tom’s out all the time.

Just to screw with Tom’s head, this morning he called the bus phone. I can’t reach it while driving but the female voice told me it was Truk calling. So I broke down and shocked him by calling him back on my cell phone (which was off until I wanted to call him). And at the time I was in the middle of Atlanta on the HOV lane.

I’m sure he didn’t believe me.

Oh I see it now. I didn’t give Al’s telephone number to anyone, that is hyperbole Jon, part of the piece. I can see where he might be upset, if I did that.

Truth is, I don’t have his number, he has never given it to me.

If you desire to pull this, go right ahead, it was not meant to be inflamatory. Just amusing.

    Oakie,

Everyone is joking and having fun, why do you keep asking if you should pull the post?

Man gunner, I don’t know. After all these operations and medical issues, sometimes I get confused. And then there is the matter of “mixing my own prescriptions” which can lead to complications.

One thing that has been bothering me is the last time I was in the hosp. they gave me 2.5 pints of blood. I really think it was “woman’s blood Tom.” Every twenty-eight days or so, I get really confused and moody.

Real booger getting old. And believe me, I’ve sure gotten old! I’ve had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes.

I’m half blind, can’t hear anything half the time, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. I am breaking my Viagra in half (cause all I want to do is cuddle) and have forgotten who it is that gets tied up … I am a mess.

Have bouts with dementia, poor circulation, hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can’t remember if I’m 68 or 82. Often I truly think I have lost all my friends.

But, thank God,I still have my Old Bus and my valid Oklahoma driver’s license. Which is pretty good, as I am sure they wouldn’t like me too much at the home and Jon says “no way” he is taking me in or allowing me to sleep in his garage.

Just thought I might have offended the Big Al and did not want to do that, he is after all, a good guy.

Don, Apologies if I offended you in any way. I was just messing around with you.

Your emails with your sense of humor are really great and fun to read.

You never offended me, but I might have offened you ….if that be the case I’am sorry.

Every thing is cool now (I think).

It could be because my memory’s not as sharp as it used to be.

Also, my memory’s not as sharp as it used to be.

Who the hell is screening these members?

How did we end up with a broken down old fart with an Iggle? Sometimes I wonder if this site has any standards.

Wait a minute…….I just remembered, we have no standards.

Rock on Oakie… Lost my phone yesterday and got Mstruk to call the damn thing so I could find it. Yep, it was in the trash can.

You can’t piss off Big Al, I’ve tried my best, but he can’t remember what was said. He’s been in southern CA for so long wiithout his bus, Bernie tells me he’s hanging around the Greyhound terminal carrying his electric stethoscope searchiing for aux air leaks. He’s been doing it so long, the regulars are now calling him Doc and wanting to know if they should drop their pants.

And for Jon calling me while in the HOV lane, no way. He was in a rest area sittiing in the driver seat of his new 50 Ford making engines noises that casues spitting on the dash while trying to talk to me.

It’s not my first rodeo… Wait, have I been to a rodeo. Oh ya, I’ve been to Peter’s.

I appreciate all the confidence you have in my bus skills. After reading these messages I believe some of you have been off your meds for a couple of days.

Here in southern Calif…..they have put together lots of help for those needing assistance in getting from one place to another.

    Al,

I thought all street signs were required to be Bi-lingual in So Cal? To be PC there should be either twice the number of signs with the second set being totally in Espanol (no tilde on my keyboard – that I know of) or the existing signs should be twice as large to accomodate the required additional text.

I noticed in the spring of 2008 on I-5 in San Diego there were warning signs with a graphic of a Mom, Dad with 3-4 Kids running. I assumed this was to protect the “undocumented” immigrants from being run over by a vehicle, regardless of currency of Registration, Insurance or Valid Driver’s License. Later that year these signs had been removed. Regrettably I failed to take a picture while they were posted so you will just have to “trust me” on this.

Uh I dunno, “Broken Down Old Fart In An Iggle.”

Kind of harsh? For the record, as some may not be aware. I have, quite recently been in the shop for repairs, I am no longer “Broken Down” and that is a fact, I have the high-deductible-healthcare-providers bills to prove it.

My Iggle is a classic, it is not painless and it is not stainless, but it has curb appeal. Because it is old, I do hear this at Truck Stops every now and then. Something like:

Your bus is so ugly, even Speedco or Jiffy Lube will not perform a 24 point insp.

Yo’ bus is so raggedy when the highway patrol stops you, they ask, “You want the ticket, or just have me shoot it and put it out of its misery.”

Yo’ old bus smokes so bad the U.S. Forestry Department routinely hunts you down during fire season.

Yo bus is so slow, Waste Management trucks blow it off the road

(actually happened to me outside of Houston Tx).

Yo bus has six flat used tires, what is wrong with the other two?

Yo bus is such a piece of crap even Jon or Tom won’t work on it and Big Al won’t park next to it.

Oh lookie there … Someone just spotted some Flyin Cows on the Interstate

    Time for my med’s.

For those of you who might not know, if it seems like we are picking on Okie, it is because we are.

He is a friend that has a quick wit, a really nice wife a way with words, and a bus that is a showpiece.

Every now and then he feels we need to get whipped into shape so this last time I think he was down at the local food kitchen when he handed out Al’s phone number, credit card number expiration date and the three digit code on the back.
