(BOG) / Air comp Only able to achieve 25 psi
Hi Guys,
Here in California we are Currently experiencing a PSPS(planned safety power shut off). Our power has been off since Saturday evening. Not a big deal since I have a 220/50a connection from the bus to my house. Works great!
Today I went to Temporarily power up a well pump so that a neighbor could fill their water tanks for some thirsty livestock. After I parked, the bus slowly sat down. When I started it up the compressor could only achieve 25 psi.
Ok here’s the problem I found:
I connected my remote air compressor to the fill point just above the chassis batteries. When I run it I can hear air rushing out of a small threaded port behind the main compressor. I’m not Sure if the port is supposed to be plugged or if it’s a vent. Can I simply plug it? See pictures below.

change that part. pressure regulator.

Is it ok to plug it? Just to limp home?

i wouldnt. two bolts and air line. may not release the brakes

Looks like a D-2 Bendix air compressor governor to me
I wouldn’t just plug it either.

Any truck parts place will have them.

If the governor has been satisfied, ie at pressure it will remain open until one of the tanks drops below 85 psi. Pump the brakes until one tank is blow 85 psi, the governor will close and all will be right with the world.
Been thee done that. lol
