  • Air Pressure

Posted by Art on September 23, 2019 at 9:54 pm

When I first got bus February of 16 the air pressure lasted 24 hours, all the tanks were all the way down, Now I ran bus Sept 2nd up to pressure and then shut off engine and all tanks were 120psi give or take a couple of pounds, 21 days later all 3 gauges are right around 105 lbs all pretty even, I am not going to worry about it anymore, good enough. Thanks’ for ever ones input the last 2 years.

On the manifold in steer compartment for aux air there are multiple air lines going to it, there is a check valve a pressure protection valve, and most of the things are from Prevost. There is a a couple of lines from the converter, 1st 1/4 line to slide step well and the seat, they are on the same line, 2nd from aux compressor, I put in a check here, 3rd air horn. the other air lines air suspension , engine air bags, air door lock. In the search to get rid of my air leaks the one line that still leaks a little is a 1/4 line that operates the slide that covers the door well and the drivers seat. So I put on a 1/4 inch ball valve in steer compartment on that one line, so when I’m parked for more then a couple of days I shut off that valve. So new idea! I took 1 of my old 3 port Norgren valves I cleaned and lubed it and pressure checked it, I’m installing it in the steer compartment . I will Tee in to control port on 5 port norgren too my 3 port which is controlled by the center valve of the 5 stack which controls ride height. And then after that ball valve I installed I will go into port #1 and out of port #2 to slide and seat. So now when the key is on the seat and slide will operate, and when I turn the key off it will turn off that line, Air leak fine now. I would try to fix slide air leak but is is hard to get to and it is not a quality Prevost part so who knows what kind of ram they used.
