1992 H3-40 Education required
Ladies and Gentlemen this is my first ever attempt at using a forum please be patient with me.
We purchase a 1992 H3-40 Coach with a view to converting to an RV toy hauler,
As it had been sitting for 2 years I elected to have it towed home.
when we connected the aux air from the tow truck we were faced with lots of air leaks around the rear axle area and the bus did not lift.
The gentleman doing the towing found blocks on the frame with 5 lines attached that were venting the air so he used brass fittings to connect these lines and the bus lifted which allowed us to make the trip home. (he was a lot smaller than I so he was able to crawl in under the bus and do this work, I have not seen these blocks yet)
I am wondering what these blocks are that we bypassed and why they would have been leaking / venting?

Those blocks are most likely the Norgren valves. They are black, about 2 x 4 inch rectangular alum. blocks. They can leak at the end caps and and internal to the spool.
Look in the atricles section and find Jon’s suspension article. It should help understand how things work.

WOW! I cannot begin to imagine the challenges you will face not only restoring a coach to a reliable and safe running condition (challenges which include lots of $$$$), and then the effort required to prepare it for living and hauling toys.
Ask questions here. Post photos. We have a lot of folks here to answer your questions, and sometimes those answers are going to be correct.

I just need to know how its supposed to work and I will eventually figure out how to make it do it !!, Great information, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Your right it is a little crazy to take this on but I love hands on learning & bringing old stuff back to life is a virus I have to live with.

In anticipation of possible questions the more information about the coach that you can include in a signature line will help greatly with the accuracy of answers.
For example, if it is a motorhome conversion indicate the converter. If it was a prior seated coach make that known, the reason being is not all systems were the same.
