DIY Norgren Stuff/preventative MX
In the steer compartment of our bus, there are two converter installed Norgren solenoid(electric) pilot actuated 3/2 spool valves that are part of the left & right rear level low system. Although mine were working fine, I decided to rebuild one, and replace the other w/new.
To replace the complete unit(s) order Norgren part# K41EA00KS1KV2 for $101. Also, order the proper voltage coil, which is easily swapped, because the new unit comes with a 120v coil, which won’t work on your bus. You’ll need either a 12vdc coil part# 54452-02 for $22 ea, or a 24vdc coil # 54452-03 for $16 ea., or re-use your old coil. The K41EA00KS1KV2 is also available on ebay.
The following are Norgren parts I came up with to rebuild your existing unit(s).
1) Coils: 12 or 24 vdc, mentioned previously. On my bus both are 12vdc.
2) Valve body w/spool valve: K41EA00 from Norgren $?$?. I found a new one on ebay for $30.
3) Spool valve only, w/o-rings and grease: #54237-59 from Norgren for $23 ea
4) Solenoid(electric) pilot operator repair kit(o-rings, etc): #54344-17, from Norgren for $16 ea
5) Armature(I call it a valve): #54462-31, from Norgren for $36 ea. This armature(valve) will work w/either 12 or 24 vdc coils. *NOTE* There are 5 of these coils on the level low 5 stack manifold, as well as the 1 coil on each K41EA00KS1KV2. Check the voltage at ea of the 5 coils. Don’t assume they’re all 12vdc or 24vdc just because you checked one of them. My bus has four 12vdc coils and one 24vdc on the 5 stack. The two on the K41EA009KS1KV2s are 12 vdc.

Those are actually the controls for Liberty’s auto-level, not the level low and control the rear 5 ports.

If you say so Tom. I’ve never tested them in auto-level mode?
I do know that when I level the bus, left & right, in manual/campground mode, they are operational.
I’m still learning what everything is called.

When Liberty modifies the level low system to add the automatic leveling feature they add the two solenoid operated valves which exhaust air from the LH and RH rear air bags. As modified by Liberty those function in both the automatic and manual modes. If one or both sides at the rear need to be lowered, you can hear the air exhausting through either or both of those valves. In an unmodified level low system all air is exhausted through a single 3 port Norgren located on the bulkhead that the solenoid valve manifold is mounted on.
