Generator air bags
It is getting pretty cold here in Michigan and we are just about to head for Florida.
The cold presents a chance to track down aux air leaks and while doing so I happened upon a question.
The aux generator is a Martin Diesel model and is powered by a Yanmar turbo 4 cylinder and mounted on a slide-out with an air bag in each corner. All 4 air bags are interconnected so, if I am correct, they all see the same air pressure. The regulator is holding steady at 10# as always.
Here’s the question: should the airbags on the exhaust/starter/turbo side of the mount be considerably flatter than on the opposite site? Is this normal for my kind of installation or is it time to install new airbags?
Do some coaches have a second pressure regulator so that the pressure side to side can be adjusted to compensate for unequal weight?

Our Liberty was set up with the generator air bags all tied to the same inlet, so the pressure was applied equally to all 4 bags.
However, 10 lbs sounds a bit light to me. I believe ours was set to 14 psi. This setting is important as the difference of only a pound or so can make a pretty dramatic difference in noise and vibration levels. You should have a placard somewhere with the recommended pressure stated. It might be a good idea to check the pressure regulator and gauge for accuracy.

Kick the pressure up a little and see if that helps.

Vantare has 2 regulators, one for the front, and one for the back (Gen end). But, they are not adjustable from side to side.

Sort of the same problem.
Found the mini generator air bags had accumulated water . This goes back to the continuos running due to air leaks.
Those little bags had captured a good deal of water over a period of time.
FWIW….don’t forget about your aux compressor check valve. Our air setting is 25 psi

All,
I took your advice and increased the air pressure just a tad (1-2#) and the airbags look a lot better. Called Martin to see if they had new bags (just in case) and was informed that Goodyear no longer made our size but Firestone does and they sell them for $76 each.
Checked for water in the bags and none found.
While in the bay under the drivers seat I discovered a hissing and chased it down to the pressure switch by Square D. $63 and 45 minutes later, the new one is in and the system is holding air well. Still have to time the off/on cycles but they will surely be MUCH longer.
BTW, while fooling around in there I discovered that my compressr check valve is actually a solenoid valve actuated by the pressure switch. Not sure if it is any better (or worse) than a mechanical valve but interesting.
