SeeLevel holding tank gauges
Getting tired of the Marathon Techlink system. Saw the SeeLevel system at a show recently, wondering if anybody has used them and if it was a big deal to install. The company was doing installs at the show, but wouldn’t do a Prevost. I think just because more difficult to get at the tanks, or maybe the individuality of each unit.

Gary, I like my SeeLevel gauges very much. Due to the height of my tanks, I purchased two sets of gauges giving me top to bottom of each tank and two readouts, inside and utility bay.
You need access to end of tanks, be able to route wires from strips to read out and 12 vdc source nearby.
Call them as they were very helpful to me as I installed my set.

As long as your tanks are not metal that sensor system will work. I have no clue how to integrate it into your TechLink, but I would like to comment on what you might have.
If you have the Headhunter tank level monitoring system it is a good system, quite reliable, and usually easy to calibrate. I have had that system for about 15 years now on 2 coaches, and except for one calibration during that entire time I have had no issues.
The operating principle is the control has a small compressor that blows air down through the tube in the tank. When the compressor stops head pressure from the tank contents is measured by the control box, and the tank level is displayed.
If the tube is clogged or if air escapes at the fitting at the control box the tank level reading will not be accurate. There is a simple procedure for calibrating the sensor. Instead of filling the holding or water tanks you just need a tube you can fill with water to the same depth as the tank contents. I have a 4″ diameter tube with a cap at the lower end I use to calibrate the sensors. I only used it once, but it was a lot quicker and easier than emptying and refilling a 140 gallon tank.

Gary, installed the Seeview gauges 4 years ago on plastic tanks, due to the height had to purchase two used existing wireing too control panel and installed extra in water bay. Highly recommend.

thnaks for theinfo.Jon i don’t know id the techlink Marathon uses is headhunter. Was trying to by pass all together. Sounds like I will need two systems, will give them a call and discuss further. Like the idea of the same wiring and display. I must admit I’m ignorant as to whether the tanks are plastic or not, assumed they were.

Hey Gary, I had the 3 little air pumps that I think Jon is talking about and never had good luck with them. I had Marathon install the See level system about 2 years ago and it has worked flawlessly so far. They tied it into the Techlink in my bus and it now reads in 1% increments, hope this helps.

good to know, must have been done in texas. I asked Darin and he said they could but was unfamiliar with the product. I think i’ll Buy the system and have them install next trip. Did you need the 2 systems like talked about above? Looking forward to getting together at Balloon fiesta.

Couldn’t get the fish tank air system tank readers to provide accurate readings. Went with iSeries from Tech Edge. PVC tube fits down into tank. Couldn’t get to sides to apply the strip readers. This has worked very well and installed myself. Gave up on techlink and put reader in bathroom. Push a button, get a reading.

Gary, I looked at my receipt from Marathon Grand Prairie and it didn’t say what they installed, so I check with them and was told they installed the same system that the new Marathons have. I will try and find out what system it was, and we are ready for the balloon festival as well, and looking to catching up with you guys.
