    water tank run dry and now water will not pump and commode will not flush. Is there a way to reset the system or prime the pump?

    Easiest way is to turn the pump off. Add water to the tank and leave a faucet open. When it is at a level above the pump the water will flow through the pump pushing the air ahead of it.

    Once you are sure the water is well above the pump level you can turn on the pump and it should be primed.

    If you have any water pressure on the water system, it will not prime.

    I hope everyone realizes when we can provide answers that work it is not because we are smart. It is because we went through the same problem and we had to learn things the hared way.

    Or we make up enough stuff, like the blind squirrel that once in a while finds a nut, that eventually something works.
