  Water sanitizers

  Morning all, wondering if anyone has a water sanitizer mad by water sanitizers Inc . Model BF 250. I have looked for a manual on the web and trito locate the company on line. Thanks everyone.

  There is exactly ZERO chance that you need a water sanitizer “system”. You might want to sanitize your fresh water system when you buy a new coach (some bleach added to your water, run through out, let sit and then flush with clean water) but otherwise, there’s not much you need to sanitize unless you plan to suck up river water as your main source of fresh water.

  I agree with Bill, the need to buy a water sanitizing system is not usually needed. Most of us acquire our water from properly treated water utility companies at the places we visit.

  But, I believe you need to…..

  Sanitize Your Freshwater Tank at least once a year!

  If your freshwater tank is older, or if it’s been sitting in your stored RV for a while, it may begin to harbor bacteria. As a result, the tank can develop an unpleasant smell ,make your drinking water taste bad, and make you sick. You can solve this problem with some old fashioned bleach. While you never want to pour straight bleach into your fresh water tank, you do want to use a diluted bleach solution. There are numerous how-to articles on the internet describing various methods to accomplish this task. All methods are somewhat time consuming, but getting sick is to.

  Thanks for the reply, my problem is that i have a sanitizer already installed when i bought the coach but no manual came with it. Im afraid if i use bleach it might damage the sanitizer. The model is listed above

  I use a Berkey water filter for drinking , cooking and coffee. It is some of the best drinking water you can get. Their directions and website claim that their filter will take red dye food coloring out of water. And for coffee I always use a BUNN which gets water up to 220 degrees ( I think ) which kills any bad stuff in the water. Cause coffee is important !

  I can’t find information on the company or that model # but it keeps coming up with hits related to Ultra Violet sanitizing systems. If that’s what you have then the tiny concentration of bleach passing by the light will do no harm.
