12V Water Heater
I should know this by now, but when I select 12V Water Heater, it doesn’t seem that it supplies “instant” and/or “endless” hot water. How long does it take to heat up usually and, how long does it last before going cold?

It should remain at temp Tim, the Webasto will cycle as needed. This is assuming you didn’t turn off the valves for the engine coolant loop at the water heaters we talked about at Clawfest.

Ok, I didn’t turn off the loops, but started from two cold water heaters so probably didn’t give it time to fully heat up. I was thinking this was “instant” hot water, but probably need to give it 20 min or so to heat up first.

I think just on electric the heaters will take around 30 min or so to heat up to the thermostat set point.
I have had mine off all night and still had plenty of hot to warm water in the am for a shower.

Tim, on mine with 2 cold water heaters and if I hit the 12 volt heat switch, it will usually take around 15-20 minutes and it will be hot. For us to have non stop hot water, I will hit the 12 volt and the 110 water heater and have never run out of hot water. Hopes this helps.

The primary reason for using my 12V WH right now, except to exercise the Webasto, is that I’m plugged into 30AMP right now. Running one A/C (14AMP) and the 110 WH (12AMP) will usually blow my circuit because I have a fridge running (2AMP) and use my Water Pump (8AMP) when showering.
