Headhunter water pump
How can I move the shaft, short of removing the pump? Is it even possible?

if it is a jet pag ( silver end) sometimes you can turn the shaft and it will work. However if not you will have to replace it and the new style headhunter will require some plumbing changes to make it work.

I had to remove my Jetpaq and as Jeff stated, the plumbing needs changed as the inlet/outlet are in different positions on the Mach 5. It was not all that difficult.

The new mach 5 does have a problem with sticking shaft seals when left unused for a time. There is a small (1-2″ diameter) cover on one end which can be unscrewed with a straight short screwdriver. The screwdriver can then be used to reach in and turn the shaft. This often then allows the pump to function.
I’ve had to do this to mine a few times but only when it’s been left off.
