  • Removing 110V Water Pump Help

Posted by Ron on July 19, 2018 at 2:47 pm

    Hi All,

I’m attempting to replace my sewer hose in my 08 XLVII Marathon. I know I have to remove the Grundfos water pump to get to the sewer connection. Having only DIY’d with coaches with hose clamps and pex, I’m not sure where (which joints) to disconnect the input and output lines exactly. It would seem that the black plastic connectors on the pump itself are the way to disconnect, but I really do not want to ruin anything saving 10 cents and costing myself $1000. If any of you can help with a “how to” plumbing lesson, I’d surely appreciate it.

    Thanks – Ron

See the big nut on the intake and output of the pump, those about 2-1/2 in diameter with the wrinkles, grip moulding on them, just turn counter clock wise til loose and the pipes will come off of the pump. there will be a gasket of some sort under the nut.

at least that’s the way I see it

Just like Glenn said, twist both of those by hand and you will have it off in no time. Be sure to fill it back up with water (fill from the top by removing the slotted cap on top of the pump) when you prime it so it doesn’t run dry at any time after re-install it.

    Good Luck!
