  • 220Volt Water heater

Posted by Hisham on February 17, 2017 at 5:48 pm

Planning on removing the 220 Volt water heater as I never used
it and will never have any use for it. Have anyone taken out this type of
    heater before?

I intend to remove the wire harness as well, if the circuit gets
powered it is a 220 Volt 55 Amps, it can injure the coach user if not carful.

If anyone have done this task please respond. Thank you

What heater are you talkling about? My HW heater is a 120V heater. The only circuits in my bus that are 240 are the washer and dryer, kitchen range and outside grill.

Hish: If you don’t use the 220 volt water heater, how do you heat water? Coach engine? Webasto?

Our Liberty has a 120volt water heater. In fact a brand new one as I noticed water in the water bay at Jeff’s in late December, he determined it was leaking water heater, and replaced it.

    John and Dick

The instant hot heater I am talking about is powered by the generator only
because it requires 55 Amps at 220 volt and not the tank heater. Previous owner used it for camping with the grand kids and the generator
on, its instant hot unit. Works great but not needed for Sue and I.

You can remove the black wires directly from the breakers, tape the ends and wire tie them to the side with the other wires…therefore not having to remove all the wiring yet making it safe to remove..

Thanks Jeff great idea, I don’t want to chase and remove wires under the bus. Next time we are near you, we will pay you a visit to find and locate all the pesky air leaks that Prevost built into $500,0000 coaches to save pennies on the right connectors. I understand cost as an automotive engineer but not when I am only building 2000 units a year.
